SINGAPORE: From March 2010, poles will not be used during the TP driving test.
The poles are used to help learner drivers park their cars.
The Traffic Police have alerted driving centres and instructors about the new requirement for those taking Class 3 and 4 practical tests.
Responding to media queries, a police spokesperson said the change is to enhance the standard of the driving tests as well as the competency level of the learner drivers.
The method of teaching and testing learner drivers to park their vehicles without poles is also practised in countries such as the UK and Australia.

reminds me of one of the people in the office.. pass and got license.. but confessed to us that he dunno how to park car in real life coz there were no poles..
dunno after about a year then told us that he learnt to park already ![]()
haha..
But i am glad.. At least they will teach you the proper parking, for you to survive outside of the driving school (if you pass).
Now. the side mirrors will come in handy instead of the dumb lines on your rear windscreen..

the reverse parking lots in driving centres are way narrower than outside! good luck those learning driving after march. ![]()
Good what? Given the LTA mentality the MSCP can have a $2.00 coin slot to rent Poles for parking with a Timer.
Car wash water also cost 40cts.

I remember how my instructor taught me how to park....

i oso dun understand the need of having a smaller parking lot at test center.... compare to the one outside....
is that KS? or trying to better train us with parking? if so why take two step back by giving us pole on parking lot?
How screw up can it be? ![]()
