Anybody encouter this problem before? I'm able to hit 400km for first half tank of petrol. The second half only allowed me to travel 250km before i have to pump. Same driver, same driving habits and methods. Any reasons why?
Shape of fuel tank. It aint a perfect cuboid. In any case 650km per tank seems pretty reasonable.
I second that nightsky87. The shape of the tank is something like a funnel. Top will have more oil and bottom lesser. Thus explaining why you use up lower half faster than upper half. The meter is correct (:
I never knew it till now.

For safety reasons, all fuel tanks are now located below the rear seats,so the shape of the fuel tanks are no more square,so that is the reason, why the fuel gauge still at full longer, actually good for those drivers that go J.B. for petrol, gauge shows 3/4 tanks ,but in volume is actually more...than a 1/4 tank.
Depends on the type of car.. IIRC my neighbour's cayman's fuel cap is actually located near the windscreen. So I'm guessing the tank is at the front of the car..

And all the while I thought it is at the rear.
