Kia's new forte koup damn chio. The price also not high. damn attractive, but my dad say kia cars got no resell value. True or not? I looking at the 1.6L one.
Also, anybody tried kia cerato forte and liked it? the lady at the showroom say they have the same engine so the feel is probably the same. and is kia a reliable car brand? is it those kind of cars that will have a lot of problems after warranty end or not?
korean car is budget. once you buy, think dun sell better.
ALL CARS in S'pore lose their value very fast, when buy brand new.
Yea, but I'm comparing locally (i.e. with other japanese make) and not internationally.

I test drive the Forte before.. I can say the engine is quite responsive, and good on FC.
Anyway, whether a car has good resale value all depends on its selling price. Basically, if you intend to drive in Singapore, better not think of resale value. COE is killing all the resale value, in fact.
And there is another thing, called "Buy high, sell ok" and "buy low, dont sell". How much are you paying for the forte? Forte just cost a fraction of their Japanese counterparts if you want to compare Apple to Apple, Spec to Spec. And you can never get as much features in japanese cars, for the price of a forte. Buy an Altis and see what they offer you. (Thai made quality, cheap plastic, engine noise, wind noise etc). Isn't it too much to ask for a high resale price and even compare with Japanese and European Counterparts?
Might as well you compare China cars and Japanese cars.. ![]()
not sure about resale value but high depreciation usually happens with jap cars too...first year expect to lose 15 - 20% of new price....the way to beat depreciation is to trade in the car when you get a new one, usually dealers tend to give better trade in value regardless of brand to push their sales......

o really? lol
really, used to be in the car trade, see borneo motors promo, they rather take in less margin and puff up sales....
I dun think depreciation will be high for Kia cars.
