MINDEF use NSmen as parking cone to reserve carpark space

Are NSmen suppose to be soldiers, or are they parking cones to reserve space at carparks for MINDEF top guns? If MINDEF have an impt function at HDB Hub, they shld liase with HDB for carpark space instead of wasting resources by making NSmen guard the parking space. If MINDEF have no productive use of NSmen, then they shld shorten NS liability to less than 2 yrs instead of misusing them in this way. PRs and new citizens are exempted from NS, so with our dwindling population, the no of NSmen serving the nation are also decreasing. "Apparently this was for their event at HUB Exhibition Hall on June 8. Those who drove in to the carpark in Basement 1 saw lots of empty lots but were asked to drive off by MINDEF staff. "I believe these carpark lots are first-come-first-served and all drivers pay their parking fees by the minute."

NSmen here are far from being a soldiers, so yes, we are probably parking cones, performers/entertainers (For National Day parade), cheap labours etc.

Yes, we are everything but Soldiers. Train 2 years then can call oneself Soldier, what a joke. Cancel the whole systems, invest billions & start their own regular sign-on troops.
People can never feel confident when in times of war, because you know the Soldiers they send are hawker uncles, customer service people or shopkeepers who served NS & train in Reservist. =.=

I always thought using your wife to chope parking lot at vivocity was bad. This take the game to a whole new level.

So if the driver insists on parking into one of those chope lots, those poor NSFs can't do shit. What you expect them to do? Puncture tyres? Scratch the doors? Throw ice cold water on your hot brake plates?

"I happened to be there as well and I actually asked them why did they reserve the lots. MINDEF actually did reserve the lots from HDB and had the rights to reserve the lots. Also it was meant for VVIPs(inclusive of MPs) attending the event.
I do not see any problem here as they did in fact made a reservation through the proper authorities. Stompers should get their facts right before posting and using words that carries a negative tone such as "chope".
Such misunderstandins can be avoided if the stomper actually asked instead of jumping the gun."

chop spaces for the mini star and all the 'stars' ma... else they late how?

If they went to request for permission from HDB least can cover their backside since e car park belongs to HDB.In any case the reserve of parking lots for VVIP is so common in some army camps.

Actually, the carpark belongs to HDB Hub. If Mindef did seek approval from HDB to reserve the lots, then it is ok I guess. I meant, they did get the permission from the proper management if that is the case. HDB is in the position to grant the permission to them after all. Perhaps other than Mindef, HDB should give a reply as well.

the garment concern is the manpower , they need 360 k soldier to fight the war if indone and malaysia combine force against us.i hate the 10 year cycle also. that is real waste of time and many shit.
