need advice

i hv abt 20K running cash right now ... kinda fance a Honda car ... saw a 2nd hand Honda SiR (A) the other day ... i think it's a 98" ... going for abt 56K ... intend to downpay it and drive it away asap .... u guys think it's a good deal or r there better option ?

A 98 SiR should cost more than that, unless there's something wrong. I expect the depreciation to be higher than that. Can u be exact? its beginning of 98? or end 98 car?
Anyway depends on what u like, SiR is a good car, but i believe u'll like it more if its manual.
Also, 20k can get u a new car easily as down payment. -
a new car downpayment oso no nd 20k... for a new honda civic, less den 10k will do...

dun think it's a 98" , sory my mistake there .... it's Sc plate .... still neg ....... i still prefer an auto car , it's like kick back and relax ... i'm those lazy sort u see..... anyway i just pas my Lic a few mths back ... so i think the insurance alone will set me back a lot ... nowaday whatever can save must save liao ... looks like most of u guys hv prefer a manuel one ...who could blame ... it's really much more fun in that but like i said i rather just depress the acc and Go.!

Fyi, if u r a P-plate, I suggest u go or Nanyang or India insurance, can easily save u up to a few hundred dollars. NTUC will get u killed. If not, an alternative is use yr father's name for the car. If he had 20 yrs driving experience, can save you at least half the insurance cost.
A 98 car should be a SCR, SCU series. And yes, if you wanna save money, don't go for a SiR. A bit contradicting here I guess.
Auto or manual depends on the car I drive. If its a coupe, I would go for a manual of cos, whereas I prefer a Manual for saloon car. Of cos, I do agree age does make a different. SiR consider a saloon car or not? errrr...... to me not really lor, heh.
Oh btw, I'm driving an automatic car now anyway.

k ... thanks .... like i said , prefer a honda with a touch of class... so SiR will be fine for me .... intend to use my dad's name for everything ....... cut cost .... i think for me , insurance will easily run up to 2k ... still i have a couple of days to decide .... as for the auto or manuel thing ... for me , those lazy bun sort ... i rather take a auto car ..... i know nowadays many youngster prefer manuel cause of the fun in gear shifting part but like i said ... in singapore road ... manuel only make life tougher !
