  did some reading about tire wear...
  
  my guess to your answer... since there is less friction when it is wet, the loss of traction is compensated by higher revolution of the tire which results to overall rubbing of the tire to the road surface.
  
  But thise would occur only in extreme situation.

  my car is still on factory tyres... michellin energy tyres... threads are very deep and very noisy in the carpark when making turns...

  Trust me.. It's not that bad...
  Try using S-03 then you know what is bad
