Another qns is, when I change the gear from P to D, sometimes there is a jerking effect......is this normal also??![]()

You gotta refer back to your distributor to check if it's a normal sign or refer to someone else who has the same car as you...
Different car has diffferent wirings, so what seem normal to people may not be normal to you.
Regarding Question 2,
P = Parked position...
Changing to D position, the torque convertor need to engage, so a minor jerk is normal
If it's a huge jerk, time to change gearbox or go for ATF Flush.
think should be P/R/N/D/3/2...Originally posted by hocky:You mentioned that the P and the D both light up at the same time? Thats odd because the car can only be in one position at any time i.e. P for park, N for neutral, R for reverse, D for drive , 3 for gears 1-2-3, and 2 for gears 1-2. Some cars have 1 for first gear only. What is S? Slow? Sport? What is L low gears? Mine is P/N/R/D/3/2 and its a C180 Benz.The slight jerk is very normal when the gear activates, but some cars do not have this jerk at all depending on the refinement of their designs.
Well.....think mine with P R N D S L is either for small cc car or newer generation car.....i also dunno.....the S mode till now i still trying to figure out wat izzit.....some say for slope, sport and even snow....so still dunno....Originally posted by hocky:You mentioned that the P and the D both light up at the same time?
