just use ur feeling to tell u if the light will change den prepare urself.
if too close change amber den continue, try not to ebrake.
i got a tip for, for jucntion try to see the pedestrian light on the other side....if its green man, ur light will be green, if red man, slow down liao cause ur light will change to amber n red soon..
u must noe ur roads well....sometime greenman flash beri fast n turn red beri soon so prepare. -

wad for switch to 3rd gear and slow down then the lights are still green unless the lights are red, then u need to change to 3rd gear and slow down ... stop
remember no changing of lanes at traffic junctions unless the traffic condition permits u to do so.

one tip that hardly used but just incase it does happens!
If your test slot is during a traffic jam and you need to change lane badly and people just don't seems to let you change. Request to your tester whether is it possible to let you wind down the window and flag to other drivers to let you through. It helps alot!

Hi, I'm new in the forum and would like to seek some advice. After reading all that message posted, i know that it is not easy to pass the driving test at 1st attempt. I strongly agree that it really depends on the instructor. Any recommendation for private instructor? who are good and charging at a resonable price? Coz i know that some instructor are not responsible.

DIrectional Change - go in, stop at 2.5 kerbs (black, white, 1/2 black), engage reverse gear, accelerate n max turn to ur right. confirm + guarantee wont hit kerb.
Parallel Parking n Vertical Parking - Parallel minimum 5 min, Vertical minimum 3min. dun worry, they key is to reverse as slow as possible while checking for safety (*important* kay siao look left, look right n look behind). the time allocated to u is more than enuff.
S Course - this is 1 u depends a lot on ur judgement skills... 1 advice i can offer u is u move ur whole body near the steering so that u can have a better view of the kerb in front. it helps...
Crank Course - go in, keep a bit to the left cos u turning right (ensure that u wont hit the kerb). once u c ur bonnet (front part of the car) cover the kerb, max turn to ur right. same applies when doing the ending part of the course. once again, confirm wont strike or mount kerb.
Slope - go up in 1st or 2nd gear only. stopping on a slope is different from stopping on a flat road. stopping on a slope u have to step on clutch then brake. stopping on a flat road is brake, clutch, brake again. dun forget ur handbrake oso. once stopped, signal right, check ur right blindspot, step on the accelerator till 3 - 3.5rpm to be sure ur car wont rollback, then release the handbrake n the car will go on smoothly...
Emergency Brake - normally the tester will test ur E brake when u r abt to go out to the test route. 1 way to "cheat" is to ensure that there is a car behind u. if there is a car behind u, the tester wont do E brake liaoz. total 7 items to do in circuit... if do less 1 = less risk to get demerit points.

100% can... actually it's advisable to do it if u r travelling at gear 4 speed when approaching a right turn.
u noe u can proceed for the right turn, changing gear from 4 to 2 immediately is better than changing from 4 to 3 to 2 cos of ur speed.
1 point to note is rem to brake b4 changing down to gear 2.

my instructor once told me he got 1 student very suay...
she stopped the car at a traffic light cos it was red.
the car was stationary, then 1 motorbike hit her car from behind even thought the car was stationary.
it's all the motorbike's fault... but the tester failed the student.

sometimes right turns can be a bit tricky...
cos u dunno when it may suddenly turn red
when u r approaching it from abt 3 or more arrows away.
1 way to determine whether the right turn arrow will red within a short time is to c the right turning traffic from the oncoming traffic.
if there is more than 2 cars that wanna turn right from the oncoming traffic, the right turn arrow will be there for quite some time.
if there is only 1 or no car that wanna turn right from the oncoming traffic, u better prepare to stop n lower down ur gear.
cos there r right turn road sensors on the road, if the sensors detect 2 or more cars that wanna turn right, the right turn arrow will be there longer...

i agree. luck plays quite a part in your test. if you meet those bloody drivers who will sabo you, then IGNTS. i took my test 3 times, the 2nd time, one stupid blue hyundai simply cut in front of me just to be in the queue to turn before me. in the end, i didnt see him coming and the tester turn my steering wheel away from the car. immediate failure. the best time for test is taking the 8.30 slot during weekdays. by the time you take the test route, it will be around 9am where most people are already at work. of course, if you still suay suay kana those idiotic drivers then solly la
