owning "racing cars" in SG simply not worth it?

  It's not worth owning self proclaimed racing cars in Sg. I get real envious of Malaysian cars which have been done up, especially a 300hp vr4 Satria GTI.
  
  So, is it worth doing up a car, past the "legal" limit and drive in fear of being stopped by tp?
  
  BTW, buying a wrx just to look good in it don't count as a reason. I'm looking at a racer's point of view.

  i think racing cars are bo hua in SG lor...
  move abit, red light...
  move abit, junction.
  
  but for those who are really interested in racing, they will make the effort to drive up north.

  yea, interest that must be followed up by $$$. Think SMSA should expand and have more "rally" events besides car park racing.

  they need at least one touring car event... car park rallies simply isin't motorsport. The mainstay of any motorsport is still circuit racing. Without any circuit racing we can't even call it proper motorsport. As it is, circuit racing is only represented by go-karts in singapore, and this year there have been no championship much to the chargin of us drivers... its very frustrating to have applied for the licence only to have them tell you round 1 is indefinately postponed..

  you applied for one? racing license? Hmm, when will they realise that they can make real $$ from closing some roads for a circuit. Personally, i love the orchard cct, i think the guy who thought of it is brilliant. They should have at least 1 day a year for night races.

  i think it's got something to do with having a large population in a small country. tons of illegal stuff in every other car in japan and states, but how many TPs over there to/can stop them?
  
  SG is so small. what happened to which car on what occasion next day all over the place liao. TP/ROV also not stupid one. its just a matter of how far u r willing to risk lor. safest bet is still to unleash the rage on the tracks up north.

  yeah... sucky..... somemore mine's international one....
  next year i renew, then im gonna try to take part in overseas race liao.... then when i finally go to london in aug, there will be some use for it... otherwise like a piece of toilet paper like that...

  England is cheap 2 own a car...really...cos the road tax there is Flat rate one....not like here...wtf...100k can get u a F355 there FYI... and 300k can get u a PAGANI zonda

  coming back to the qns, i think owning a "racing car" = "mod car" is not worth it.
  
  the real racers like ferraris etc are worth it if you're super rich and like to race in them. in s'pore, its difficult to race as humps and road debris make it unsuitable.
  
  what we see this days are those "ah beng" cars. some really are nicely done up but some really can't make it. so, i will buy a racer should i hit my mid-life crisis.

  think i got see b4 one? going along bukit timah rd after newton circus further down heading towards sim lim sq n KK hospital direction there? got this place i think rent cars like ferrari n rx-7
