Any Colt owner around? i notice that when i shift the gear from P to R, it would cause jerk. Sometime is slight and some time it seem to be severe. Any colt owner encounter this before?
thanks
Yes, but I own a lancer. This problems happens only at times. Especially after start-up of engine. Right?
if u are talking abt the new daimler chrysler colt, u can find more information here
http://www.mydc3.com/
i share the colt with my mum..so im a partial owner..
if u din mention it
i wouldnt have noticed it
it's true tt there's a jerk
but it aint tt obvious from my perception
U mean there's a jerk even though the brake were depressed when u shift the auto gear?.
could it be due to the MIVEC engine in Colt?
this problem is not encountered in lancer which has either the GDI or GLXi engine.
Hello!
Yes, the colt jerks sometimes when changing gears, and i heard lancers too(cos i think the engine's the same for the older models)
older colts and lancers are known to have some gear box problems, i've driving a '92 colt for year plus now and sometimes the car will jerk with some craking noise when engaging gear 1 and reverse gear, annoying but have does not and will not have any serious consequence =)
just make sure the clutch is fully depressed when changing gears(for manual car) for auto ones, just pray.
if problem persists you may wanna consider changing the gear box. can go malaysia to look for spare parts, about half price there.
hope it helps!
=)
