I start first
my family used to own a renault megane until we cannot tahan the loan
sold around 4 months ago
now looking for a mini van like kangoo for transport
i would say it has high levels of grip
acceleration is not bad considering the car 100kg heavier than most jap car
very forgiving...high threshold limit b4 it surrender in long highspeed corners
car is kinda balance but body-roll alot due to the softer suspension.
comfortable on high speed.
horror to drive in slow speed, donno y...
steering is kinda heavy but commanding
overall i would give 7/10
the new one is totally different
went for a test-drive
the new one i would give 9/10
near perfection for a family sedan

My family used to owned a 2.0 Accord (auto) kinda old car lah... 'SBA' plate. The fuel consumption very bad. We had our current 2nd hand Corrolla XL 1.3 which is more economical (duh!).
Then we changed to a New 'SDF' corolla 1.3 XLi S.E. Saloon. very nice car...everythings fine but too bad, dad got retrenched after a year and we have to sell off the car.
Recently, We had our current 2nd hand Corrolla XL 1.3 which is more economical (duh!).
having a good acceleration and less problem on high speed. Only to wobble at 175km/h (must be cannot tahan). no problems. kinda light car with a touch of a little K&N Filter, Grounding Unit, Oil Regulator...
Btw Goodeal - A renault kangoo is diesel right? I tot u need to have a registered company in singapore to drive a diesel car? -

Ride-wise even though the suspension is abit firmer than the 2.0 version (Mine is a 2.5 one) its still abit too soft Plus that the ride height is abit high...can feel the body roll when going into corners at speeds above 90 km/h..TONS of grip cos of the Etessa ETS traction system which is dervied frm the Skyline...Crappy interior build quality cos air can be heard coming in at speeds above 120km/h....Engine wise it's pretty powerful...which shames the Hyundai Santa Fe cos it has a 2.7 liter compared to the X-trails 2.5 and yet the BHP and torque is lower
and FYI nissan's new S16's engine will be the same unit as the X-trail's
