Hi, i am new to the car scene and would like to know what you guys have to say about these 2 cars as i am considering getting either one. I am thinking of getting a second hand one of about 2 years old, preferably 1.4 manual. I notice nobody here talks much about these cars even though i kind of feel the prices are quite attractive for them compared to the japanese cars that are widely being discussed about. Please tell me what you guys think about them and if there are any major faults or disadvantages with them such as high fuel consumption, major engine problems or expensive servicing with hard to get spare parts.
Alternativly i am thinking of a lancer of about the same age. I understand that would be the one with the boxy rear. And just to clarify when people mention lancer03, which model are they talking about? the boxy one or the latest model on the road? Thank you.
Depends how long u wanna use the car,
Renew COE car got no OMV value, and could give engine probs if it was not well maintained. So u better calculate how long u wanna use it and how much it will be at the end of it at scrap.
Usually pick manual cause it gives less problems, but that again is related to how well it was last maintained.
Advantage of Lancers would be the parts I suppose, heard b4 that u can get it repaired cheaper in m'sia but I'm not too sure on that. I think the model u are talking about would be the one looking like the evo 6, but I'm not too sure.
Theres quite a few things that can go wrong if u decide to get the older cars, radiator, suspension, worn out gears etc, so make sure u inspect properly b4 u commit.
