"Cyclone" System to improve Fuel Consumption

Anyone used or still using the "Cyclone" system or similar device to improve fuel consumption? Basically improved Air/Fuel mixture for better/complete combustion.

there are couple of broquet products.. supposedly the 1600cc-2000cc product, if put on a 1600cc car, will have more obvious results... i bought the 1000-1600cc product, for my 1498cc car, no obvious diff in acceleration...Originally posted by NsxBleam:wat about the broquet... heard its quite gd too...

slightly better fuel consumption.. say improve about 0.5-1km/l. not very sure about the improvement cozz i also changed my air con at that time, so 2 different variables.... but definitely i feel the consumption is not significantly diff.. acceleration wise, not fantastic also.. but overall can feel the car drives better tho'
if you buy the 1600-2000cc one, gotta set you back by $500+ -

The Cyclone system (from what learn in my mechanical enginnering days) is actually to improve air-fuel mixture and with a system that has better mixture the combustion will be more complete and giving the total energy that the amount of explosive mixture is in the cylinder at that time. The cyclone as i read allows the swirling of air into the cylinder, this swriling effect cause the air and fuel to be properly mixed, thus producing better combustion and hence performance as a result. This is why today the petrol engine design has Fuel injection, which was found in desiel engine in the early days (I think Mecedes was the pioneer), to improve mixture and also a more positive response throttle.
Another alternative is to either turbo or supercharge the engine, well in Singapore we might have problems with LTA on modifications and also car warranty. -
Oops, the magnet thingy, yes from the product write up the theory is that the powerful magents that is installed around your fuel line, will cause ionisation(or something like that) which will cause the fuel molecules to be unclutter and thus a better combustion. Sounds credible, need to try it and know.
The Cyclone system seems to be workable on some type of car design, because you need to install it in two areas
a) the Air Intake filter box
b) the Air inlet near to the engine block
You probably need a qualfied mechanic to install.
The magnets thingy just need the cable tie to secure it. -
why not intall high performance washable air filters like K and N, HKS, Greenfilter, Pipercross ?

The ideal world is that the air is very clean, thus if we can, the filter will not be needed, and the flow of air into the inlet will be the best. Installing filters however is necessary, BUT that does not improve the flow and dynamics of circulation but it inhibits. Those high efficency filters improves filteration of air particles but not the flow dynamics.
Im not too sure about the piper products.
Jus to note in colder temperatures i.e. morning, your car will run the most efficent, in terms of combustion, because the density of air is higher at low temperature and therefore higher oxygen levels relatively. -
Err, no offence ppl, but IMO, all this cyclone and what nots that claim to improve performance by increasing air intake efficiency is, for the lack of a better term..... a load of bull.

Yeah the cyclone is CRAP> If you really want horsepower gain....install a proper cold air intake system, change your whole exhaust system and do a PIGGYBACK ECU...This will give u at least 15-20 bhp gain..Dun waste your time with air-fuel regulators, cyclones, power boost valve, air charger etc......

if it can save u bout 10% of ur petrol,y not u intstall 10 of them...so u don have to pump petrol at all....

Yeah I wanted to install such devices too and when I asked my fren, who is a car mechanic to install for me, he told that if he wan to earn a few hundred bucks off me, he would install for me but becos we are frens, he advised me that there is no such thing as fuel saving device or else he say he would be the first to install them cos he driving Nissan X-Trail, MPV damn eat fuel.....so well its up to you all...

I've installed the Cyclone on two cars before, Nissan Sunny 1.3L 1983 and the Suzuki Swift 1.0L 1996 . The Clyclone did gives better idling (especially for the 3-cylinders swift) and run smoothly (without jerking) on 2nd gear without the accelerator being stepped. For fuel consumption, I hit Think it is a good and safe passive device that can outlast the car's life. Now driving the new Liana 1.6AT. Considering to install the Clyclone too....if the price is right.

just installed the Cyclone2. $130 near Queensway. Clocked 10.5km and 11.8km recently (city driving) after installting. Definitly have better sensitivity on the accelerator. Engine a bit quieter. how about you ?Originally posted by copperhead:Hi sethanon,

Have been monitoring my improvment is about 10% that brings to about 10.5km/l. Yes, I agree that the response from the engine is more sensitive now, have to control , becuase Im a bit heavy footed.
Did you unplugged the battery terminals as instructed by the installation guide? I did not do it, my mechanic friend says no need because the intake box sensor was not removed nor adjusted. -
