Volvo cars - check this out

My family had a volvo limo when i was younger, i didn't have an inkling of cars back then but i thought it was pretty decent. Then came the 80s-90s period where Volvo acquired the reputation of being the 'safest' car in the market. That was about the last i heard about Volvo i suppose.
In recent context, Volvo made a gross and i do mean gross mistake in coming out with their s60-80 models which featured that 'chinese coffin' look (if you don't know what i'm referring to, take a closer look at volvos on the road, from the rear.)
Currently, their SUVs are pretty decent, only matched by cayenne and RX300. But one model i realised that hasn't received enough fanfare is their s40 model. Something like what the IS200 is to lexus, a small sporty coupe type of car. I saw one on the roads the other day, which puzzled me cause i thought it wasn't brought in. It had the sports edition i've seen on the net, with a spoiler and sports rims and stuff, in black.
Now sometimes, when we're overly exposed to japanese cars, good solid cars like the s40 gets ignored and glanced over. So for those who are looking for a 'young' chiongster or rather excecutive car with a budget of 100k to 125k, i highly reccommand this classy alternative to your IS200s and Beemer 3 series.

and again....IS200 is nowhere near the S40....In fact I like the S60R...LOL -
The IS200 a sporty car??? You mean it LOOKS like a sporty car. Any car that goes 0-100km/h in 11.2sec is DEFINITELY NOT a sporty car... well, thats my definition anyway.

The IS200 is a 2 litre car with decent handling and looks, how fast do you expect it to go anyway. my parents' E class could do the 0-100 in 8 or 9 secs, and its a 2l engine and a heavy car.
the IS200... well its just looks and its not even DECENTLY fast.

Another thing, since you mentioned that Evo 8 just started competing it goes to show that you will not truly know the car till it is proven.
Having tried both E 200 and IS200 I can say the IS is a great car in comparison. Can you say the same? I know you have not gotten your license yet but it seems that you drove all these before to give such coments. Like the time you put down the integre -

as an integra owner... i wld say...the integra is a decent...n fast NA car. besides...no use having such a good EVO 8 car in singapore when u cant use it to the fullest. DC5 is a NA 200BHP car in stock. too bad it aint a AWD. haiz...sad..

As for the integra arguement it was only after tailslide reveiled that he had one when you guys backed off, before that it was just swarming with facts and figures from knows where. -

and i did not back off after he revealed he had one. go read. we went on a lot longer after that.
i backed off when it started becoming a flame war, esp with him n tofu. my stats were quoted from many ITR owners sites and fan clubs all over e world, including UK, USA and japan.
i can only be unsure about the USA sites because they quote the figures for the Acura but i suppose there should be no difference in dimensions. other than that i stand by my figures.
and short of racing a ITR, an Airtrek Turbo R and a Mini aroudna track u can't tell which is best so no point arguing until we have a way to concretely decide which is best.
As for the IS, its just a normal car trying to look sporty.
the last one they raced at the merdeka millenium race didn't even qualify. -
