Hi everyone,
Could i check with you guys... I've got a fren who is in 2 minds about scrapping or exporting. the car details are as follows...
Sept 2000 Honda City Auto, Mileage is over 100K, COE: $33K, PARF: $19K.
Essentially, wat are the figures if he were to scrap or export the car now? He has called LTA and surf thru the LTA one motoring site but the details are very sketchy.
He called up one exporting firm and they offered him 4K for his car depending on its condition. He would get bk approx $42K from his COE + PARF is that a good offer? On the other hand how much can he get if he brings it to the scrapyard?
Please advise.....
Cheers
scrap 4 wad....the car is less than 4 years old
Cos he doesn't wan to keep the car anymore, he wants to downgrade to a bike. So he intends to either scrap or export it. Any advise?
of coz export u will get a better price!
remember ur fren need to noe his full settlement figure wif bank so tat he noe if he need to top up cash a not?(if the car is still under loan)
Then u should find a reliable dealer to buy in ur car and the dealer will do all the necessary for ur fren.
you can only export if there is a demand for the model of the car. I doubt you are able to export honda city. It is relatively cheap to buy new ones in Australia or NZ. High end model like BMW and Audi are much easily to export because these car are very ex. oversea.
Normally when your car is going to be exported, the dealer will pay you the scape vaule + car body (depending on the demand of the oversea market eg. BMW 318 cab 2 years old $14k easily),
There are still a lot of country that u can exported...not only australia or new zealand...Car exporter will noe best which country will fetch a better price for ur car.
