Are there anyone out there who has tried the Chevrolet Optra out? Any commends or critics? The price tag is good for a car of that size. Just wouldn't know how's the handling and performance...

Its a daewoo lar....they just rebadged it as a chevy...(something like wad proton did all long till today) cos daewoo is owned by GM.....dun think theres any diff at all...its the same but if its cheaper then the daewoo then go 4 it lar....cos same stuff everything

tofu is not exactly correct.
it maybe be a daewoo, but the chassis has been tweaked, and the handling is pretty good, even in the wet. overall build quality is also better, and better finished. the last reviews i read about it, were pretty positive. in fact, they issued the warning to the Toyota Vios and Honda City, saying that this car poses a serious challenge to them. -

I sat in the optra...it was good. Two of my friends bought it immediately after the test drive. The optra is a good car. It is not manufactured by Daewoo unike the older models which were rebadged. The Optra uses parts from Chevrolet and GM parts. From experience, GM parts are very reliable and GM supply them to other car manufacturers as well i.e. Opel, Saab & others... The engine is also very responsive and silent. The interior is also very amercian...I like it very much and for the price, its worth it. Go down to the show room and see for yourself. cheers

anyway autocar asean edition nov 2003 issue has a write-up on e car. gets very positive reviews. go check it out.
