Some question on weekend cars !

[size=large]Hi all car-lovers , just want to ask a few questions....
1. What's the difference in the road taxes , say a 1.6 liters Hyundai Matrix ?
2.Was there any difference in the insurance charge between a regular and a weekend car ?
3.What's the official timing allow to be on the road ?
4.What's the cost involve if i need it off the official timing ?
5.Was there somekind of rebate for weekend cars in the COE ?
6.Is weekend cars worth a buy ? -

1. Discount up to 80% for off peak car,my friend driving matrix,he told me his road tax $100+.
2.Insurance charge is the same,see yr age.No discount.
3. 7am to 7pm on weekdays cannot on the road,7am to 3pm on Sat cannot on the road,Sun & holiday anytime on the road.
4.Buy a $20 coupon from Post Office to display on the car when driving at restricted timing.1 coupon only valid per day.
5.Rebate 17,000 of normal COE. For exp. COE now 24,000 that means 24000-17000= 7000(yr COE price)
6. Worth buying if yr working time fit the restricted time on road. -

What about when scrapping time , got value ? Like OMV ...... PARF ?.......Whatever scrapping rebate ?

Hmm....you mean when car go scrap yard , the scrap yard dealer never see number plate one ? They just pay you the same amount of money like a normal car ?
If that's the case , weekend car is not a bad idea afterall !
I mean the depreciation is lesser (lower) !
Say if a normal Matrix is $67,000 , which includes a $27,000 COE , that makes the car without COE at $40,000 ! So...
$40,000 + $27,000 - $17,000 = $50,000 !
$50,000 with COE ? $5,000 a year depreciation ? 10 years later scrap still got about $16,000 ? Not bad leh !
Then why I see less weekend cars nowdays on the road ? Especially that I work from the evening , and I was on the road almost every minute , I suppose to see plenty of them , but i don't , why huh ?
Is there any negative factors of owning a week-end car ? -
I think is the hours....if you're driving to work, you must reach office before 7am....

Road Tax is -S$800 off the normal plate and can only be renewed on a yearly basis....
Inspection of the vehicle number plate on a yearly basis(b4 renewal of road tax) is compulsory to check it is not tempered with.
There is a difference in insurance.(i am 30 this year with 50+5% discount on my insurance, my OPC STI rex cost me S$1477 per annual, if it is a normal plate, it would be at S$1871)
