This is my first posting here! And i will like to start off by asking all about the above topic.
Have anyone of you heard of the above magnetic device installed along the fuel line to save petrol?
It works in this way - as petrol is made up of hydrocarbon molecues, the magnet charged the molecues so that they are more combustible, thereby improving combustion ( more power) yet less incomplete combustion ( fuel economy). I ve tried it my self and i felt that it works, not on my car thou.
However, the only question left is - it cost $168 to install and i think its quite expensive. Anyone of you heard of a better offer locally or across the causeway??
Extra info > it works best for manual cars, as for automatic cars- it works too BUT not so much for cars equipped with CVT such as the new sunny and lancer.

I tried it out this gadget a few years back. The sales rep installed it free with a one week no questions asked return policy.
There was no change in my fuel consumption. Not surprising because scientifically it has neglible effects. (speaking as a mechanical engineer)
Magnetism changes the path of charged (or ionic) molecules moving through it, where the positive and negative ions move in opposite direction. However, the hydrocarbon in petrol is a covalent liquid, where there is no ions to be affected by the magnetic field.
Even if there ionic molcules present in the additives, they rrecombine the moment they leave the magnetic field.
I returned the device one week later, after having the satisfaction of discovering that it is just a strong permanent similar to surge protectors found in computer power cables. (So you can figure out the true cost of this gadget)
