K&N filter

I had just fitted a K&N air filter for my one week old altis. Called the agent before replacing, and was told the car will still be under warranty.
The engine pick up is a little bit quicker, after it. However, me not sure whether this K&N filter compromised on the clean air quanlity, to achieve that little bit quicker pick up?

THe gain is not much and cannot really be felt.... unless you are toking about ur stock filter being very old and that now you change to a K & N..... with a K&N the car 'breath' better compare to a stock filter..... dun worry about other matters, the 'health' of the car will stil be in good condition..... nothing is being compromise

Dun worry... in fact the seemingly quicker acceleration should be the K&N filter enabling cleaner air to be fed into your engine hence improving the performance. In essence, i think that its mostly psychological. One way you can prove that its truly working is use the filter for a while, then remove it. This is a better way to see if the filter is REALLY improving your acceleration. There are instances where bhp actually falls, but torque goes up, but thats another chapter. But sorry I digress...
Unlike the usual stock filter which is made of paper, aftermkt filters (of which K&N is pretty popular and established) actually improve air flow and air filtration. Hope this helps. -

I think muz be all those cars magazines doing up the story of how cars can improve their pick up speed and HP with K & N filter..... another thing is the E68 fallency..... -

seriously i feel changing of filter is hv cleaner air to ur machine lor.... diff is only i tink the RPM/pick-up is smoother...or somehow faster abit lor..i also use te kan ni na filter.i feel lik not much diff... -

I understand that engine oil will get dirtier more quickly? Any advise

It's okie, can still use till the next servicing.... not significant at all....
