Newbie driving a 13 yrs old Suzuki Swift 1.3 manual. Hope someone can give me the advice on the following:
1. Is it true that using Rain X to repel rain on the windscreen would cause it to weaken? Then, how to remove it if it has been apply?
2. There are so many different grades of engine oil, brake and clutch fluids and power steering fluids, which type is suitable for me? Pls recommend.
3. Can I just use tap water to top up my battery and radiator or buy the bottled battery water and coolant?

1.Rain X is okie on the windscreen dun worry.... but after u put is on try not to use the viper too much.... another alternative way is to spray sightly soapy water onto ur windscreen.... this can be done by adding a few drops of car wash liquid into ur tank....Originally posted by CuriousBoy:Newbie driving a 13 yrs old Suzuki Swift 1.3 manual. 2.use lower grade oil.... :> the other fluids can use any brands one ..... dun worry..... anyway for petrol use 95 as the main petrol.... occasionally mix the petrol with 98.... dun ever use V power as the main fuel.... it may cause more harm to ur car then to increase the performance.....
3. battery water not equal to tap water lar..... for your radiator can use normal tap water..... but the best is to mix coolant and tap water.....
If u really got no idea abt servicing just approach a workshop..... normal labour cost will cost less than $40.... -
eh, i heard the rain x makes your wiper skip as it sweeps across your windscreen. anyone care to verify this?

irritiating sound produce when the wiper goes against the windscreen.... and the movement is not really very smooth.....

True that the viperss movement is not smooth, kind of jerky. Also does not seem to be very effective after several days.
Any other recommendations? -

I used it on my old car....it really work, BUT it makes my wipers do bloody noisy and also the effect last only a few days.
So, in my new car I did not use it. Dun want to "damage" my new car. -
I will try not to use it ... it will spoil the wiper immediately after you apply it on your windscreen ... For me ... i choose to use Silicon Wiper which can last longer then normal rubber wiper ... but its ex ... Malaysia is selling those Silicon wiper at half price due to the exchange rate of SGD to RM ...
Sorry that i do not know the address in malaysia that sell these wipers haha ... only know how to go ...

V power is too pure for old engine..... something to do with the combustion of the old type of vehicle..... old man cannot always eat gd food rite....Originally posted by Medoc:Hi,
