Mine's a SFJ 3-digit, dark blue 2003 vti. Ya, the J-series ended so fast, car business must be booming, huh?Originally posted by TAL:Hi Swordman Lu,
Went down to hand over IC today, getting car in 2 weeks. But quite surprised that there are people who ordered the car later but getting the car faster. Wonder is it because of SE or due to stock.
Heard from SE that the registration plate is already SFK, will probably be SFK 2xxx . Can't believe it is that fast.
What;s yours? SFF?
SE = sales executive, person who should first serve you when you look-see-look-see at the showroom.Originally posted by Hairyworm:Hmmmm, may i noe wad is SE? So happy tt u all haf a car. Can go anywhere u all like. Great ya!
The tot of pubic (yes without the L) transport drove me to drive.Originally posted by swordsman_Lu:Be happy when you don't have a car yet. Think about looking for parking space, paying parking fees/fines, ERP, road tax, petrol, etc., dodging TP, looking out for carpark aunties, kenna horn/swore by pple you don't know why he get offended, stucked in jams ...think no car is still better?
Hi, TAL, it always feels good driving a new car, esp. when it's yours. Of course driving a new civic makes it doubly exciting!Originally posted by TAL:Just got my new blue civic at Mandai yesterday. Car plate number already SFK 25XX. Really fast, SFJ took only less than a month to clear. I think people are really flocking to the showroom.
My previous ride was also a Civic so I knew how to get to Mandai. My SE was late, so I went up to the third floor and have a fun time with my friends with my own car as well as looking at all the other cars for collection.
It's true that there are a lot of silver cars around cos easier to maintain. My previous Civic was silver, but decided to go for blue this time round. Sent my car for toughseal this morning, heard that it is good. And since they are having promotional offer of $350, might as well do it. It's quite near my place too so nothing to do can just pop by to have a car wash by the toughseal people for $10.
Fantastic ride! Cannot describe how good it feels to be inside the new Civic. Can't really rev it yet but enjoy the slow drive. Like the small details like the hangar hook found at the back as well as the reading lights in front. Of course, honda not well-known for pampering us in the cabin, so all these small details are welcomed.
Space for storing junk things is limited but better la, cos force to clear car often.
Where do you go for servicing? I usually go Mandai cos queue is shorter and can see your baby being examined from a distance. Ubi has a longer queue and heard service not as good as Mandai.
hehe... can't answer you in the most confident manner coz i'm driving a manual one.Originally posted by zheshi:is the 2003 Civic using the CVT Auto Tranmisson or the normal kind ? thk
i see.. really lost track of civicsOriginally posted by Ah Wei:Hi,
The 2001 Civic uses CVT but not 2003 models and onwards......
huh... i thought civic shocks are more comfort biased? one guy mentioned to me that u'll be really shock at how short those absorbers are?Originally posted by STiYaKuzA:i sit my fren's 2003 civic, and the ride was damn bumpy going over humps(nearly knocked my head on the roof behind, remember to wear seatbelt). i would say that the civic's sus. settings are performance biased rather than comfort biased, but other than that, everything's well. given the cheap price ard 60k, i think i would also go for this car.
Hmm.... as far as I know, don't "chiong", be S'pore's most patient and courteous driver before your 1000km servicing..... after that, "to hell with courtesy"!Originally posted by Blockhead:hey, I hope you guys can help me out...
I will be getting my civic (manual) on the 16 or 17th of July. Its the first time i will actually have to break in a new car, so i was hoping some of you "lao Jiao"s here can give me some advice.
Are there anything else I should or should not do with a new car aside from the the mandatory running-in period? (Aside from the obvious, like crashing the car, driving with the handbrake up...)
Thanks for the help.
