Not sure if anyone has discuss about this....
Just wan to find out if anyone turn off the air-con and radio before u switch off the engine? Is it more advisible to do so? why? -

tink its more 4 wen u start the engine later, thn the battery wnt b overdrained by the a/c & radio while u crank the engine.
over straining the battery will giv it a shorter life span.. -

Ya have to do more with when you re start your car..... To make it simple, it will make the car easier to start as most of the power supply is channeled to the main compotent..... New cars will not make much of a difference though.....

haha my father keeps the air-con off for a few mins after he starts a cold engine, till the temp is up. same theory as the one which advises us not to drive immediately on a cold engine. less strain on the engine since air-con takes up a significant portion of the engine power i guess.

When I installed my ICE, the guy told me to switch off the radio so that when I start the car the next morning, there will not be any chance that a power surge hits the amp. But of course, I dun bother to turn it off... mainly becos I have a timer... hahahah... by the time the car goes off, it is out of my sight..., but I digress... even the warming of cars is only necessary for old cars, aga aga I would say more than 8 years, as the advancement of cars render such practices not necessary. For eg, E36 BMW owners manual will inform you to drive the car as per normal and do not warm the engine in a stationary way. Just dun rev your car till 6,500rpm before your engine warms to its normal temp.
Anyway, let me throw a spanner in the works here....
I have a temp gauge in my car which reads the temp of the engine to each degree celcius. My dashboard engine temp will slow move to its normal position as I begin my journey, my temp gauge will read cold (i.e. 50deg). When I take my car on track, my temp gauge went to 110deg, the breakpoint of engine oil. However, my dashboard temp still reads normal. You get my drift?
When your dashboard temp reads HOT HOT HOT!!! Your engine is probably dying with each second!!! anyway, as usual, i digress... -
Dans, warming up a car is more for the electronics to adjust nowadays.... so I will still advise you to warm up your car.... just once in the morning can liao..... of course old car need to warm up then can move.....

I do that also... off lalio, of air con then off engine... dunno what for but my ah lao tell me Natasha will be happier that way....

off radio is no nid la... but the off air con part i believe it's better for your engine lor... dun believe next time u on your engine liao with your air con off, then once you on your air con you will see the rpm drop abit. i think the air cons takes up some engine running power, that's why i see some people wanna drag race they off air con... lol. warming up of car is something i do coz i've seen my dad do it all the time. There's never any harm in warming up the car before driving. It's just like it's always good to warm up before you do exercise right?

No lar, it is more to protect the air con, when you rev very high the compressor may overheat and blow..... (it happen to me be4) and days without air-con is no joke dude..... -
