buying a car for showing off or wat?!?!?

  hi just wondering.. becos had a fren telling me that he asked his dad to buy him a car o that he can be on par with his peers.... i thin kinda wasteful.. ipersonally buy a car becos i think time is at your control literally...... for example. i used to having calculate time to wait for bus and travelling time....... travelling time is short but i hate waiting for bus... it always damn long.... and if taking taxis.. i would lament most of time that they are always driving damn slow which defeats the purpose of taking a cab...... so i bought a small car which can take me to pt a to pt b...... but of course the.... paying part.. is siong lah.. the premium is great for having that convenience....

  your friend is too childish. Having parents sponsor a car is a priviledge, not a right...to demand a car to be on par with peers..that is even worse. Imagine what it will do to the teenagers character should the parents agree.

  Heng, jiayong, Wow the 2 of u got hm be4 me..... I turtle ya.... anyway..... For wat show off..... unless you are driving in some ferrari, Masaratti... Drive a brand new toyota and show off?? Juz get something you are comfortable with..... small or big no problem lar.....

  wah, u guys damn on, visit the forums b4 the gathering, go home liao at 3 am still visit the forums. i think theres a reason for everyone to buy a car. some do so for the sake of getting them from one point to another, others might feel that the kinda cars they drive reflect their social status.
  
  in any case, i think that none of them should feel compelled to buy a car juz to fit into the category that they hope to be in without understanding their own place in life. i think it is perfectly fine if the kinda car u want is within ur means. as long as u do not impose this view on ur parents. owning a car is not ur birth rite and u should be contented nonetheless.

  Buy car to show off... thats me man... hahaha... then i kenna scolded by my friend. He is a true blue enthusiast, slowing down only becos of the recent TP action.. hahah.. Anyway, whether you buy to show off or to for the joy of driving - the most impt thing to me is that its my car (technically, the bank owns it but still...). When I was driving my parents' car, I never said it was my car. Too pai seh.... but now that i am paying for each monthly instalment, each engine oil change, each brake pad change, each alignment, etc. It feels GOOD to know and to say, this is MY car. Worked hard for it... and best part, its one of my affordable dream car!!! M3 CSL next... woo ooh!!!

  yo dan man, u driving what? anyways... met one such idiot today who drive to really show off... and the best thing is, hes so bloody slow but comes around trying to race everyone he sees. so duh. and lost to a stock Merc E200 with 4 ppl somemore.

  for me i think buying car is a waste,only if you really need it then maybe can consider to buying it,if just for showing off...then i think there isn't a point of buying a car...
