Sorry bro, do not get you... sharp and fast cornering, you did not feel much down-force (I presume.. you meant down-force, but you REALLY meant centripedal force or vertical G-forces right?)... if you corner hard, no matter whether you are in a ferrari or a lorry, you will feel vertical G-force (physics!!)... you did not feel it as your friend probably did not corner as hard (whether speed or turning in)... I would agree with you if you corner the same corner with different cars but at the fastest speed before spinning out as a comparsion.Originally posted by 2004Lancer:Verdict:-
Mitsubishi Lancer has extremely good road handling and great suspension. For example, during a sharp and fast cornering, I did not feel much force-down when seated next to my friend's Mitsubishi Lancer. Nissan did. So did the rest.
Test-seated next to friends driving different cars???? Being a driver and a passenger is two very different things leh. U cant compare cars this way?... u hav to drive the car urself then u will know the differences?Originally posted by 2004Lancer:The reason why I decided to settle for a Mitsubishi Lancer is because it is the cheapest Made-in-Japan car in town...
I test-seated next to friends driving Nissan Sunny, Toyota Altis, Toyota VIOS and Mitsubishi Lancer. Did not consider Honda Civic (Made-in-Japan one) because no money.

Toyota Altis is very spacious and has a very luxurious feel. But when I went to the Showroom at Borneo Motors, I noticed the bend-in edge of the car bonnet near the pivot of the car door very roughly done. The bend-in edge also has pointed and sharp edges. Camry does not have such a hidden ugliness.
Heard from a mechanic that Altis has faulty electrical wiring - yet to confirm.
Honda City also has wind noise as VIOS.
Nissan looks luxurious too but heard from the Sunny owner (friend) that the fuel consumption is higher than Mitsubishi Lancer.
However Mitsubishi Lancer is SOHC (Single OverHead Cam) which makes the power lower I guess.
Whatever it is, I still like the logo - very cool - some more used by Jacky Chan
Hi, was aiming at Lancer too as Honda too expensive, altis rear i dun like, sunny high fuel consumption. However, heard that mitsubishi CVT got problem ley..... dunno true or not...Originally posted by 2004Lancer:The reason why I decided to settle for a Mitsubishi Lancer is because it is the cheapest Made-in-Japan car in town...

if your car catches fire, it doesn't matter whether the fuel tank is spread out or not. once kena burn will explode also.Originally posted by 2004Lancer:talking about Honda City, note that the spacious 500litres booth actually takes that gas tank space away...i personally feel it is unsafe as the gas tank is now spreaded across the lower area of the car...one can imagine what is likely to happen when a fire breaks out from an accident or if there is undercarriage fire...

fortunately for me i was still able to sell my old car (though extremely well-maintained) a week ago...the transition was jux right...with a break of about 1 week....
*phew* ...finally after a week of 'long distant' walking, hopping into trains and buses.....and after some suffering from sore foot....tonight the drive home felt sooooooo comfortable and personal......
frankly, the car booth cover feels heavier and solid...*you can confirm it yourself by opening and closing the car booth of Toyota Altis/VIOS and Mitsubishi Lancer. The former has a 'thin' and hollow sound and it is very light. Some may prefer 'thin' slamming sound.

roadtax about $4++ (coz it is 1.6 litres)
Mine is Auto / CVT...
if u squat down and peek from the rear, u will see the rear suspension that resembles Honda Civic double wishbone <- correct me if i describe incorrectly.....quite nice and cool lor.....
