What's the Fine for Owning a Speed Detector Device?

last time when i work roadshows they have this device that captures the speed of the soccer ball that the public can blast.
but like not illegal leh...

I think what he meant was a radar or laser detector device? Ie to warn you if there is police radar or laser ahead...
As for a device which calculates the speed of cars on the road, it is not illegal. -

Anyway unless u got the latest bell system detector the rest of the brands are pretty damn useless, I've used the Radio shack to Uniden systems and they best they ever detected was a police cruiser at the outskirts of Perth. And these were considered 2nd best of the product range. -

I think its illegal in Singapore and no one is selling openly...
But you can get in countries like Europe or Australia.
I got a video from 5th Gear about this radars detectors. Pretty cool videos that tested a few of them.
And they tested one that "shoots" back a bim of laser to the laser gun that is taking your speed.
And that laser gun will return "error" and think there's nothing they can do to you even you are speeding... but not speeding too much lah.

got got got ... Speed trap detactor .... comes original with the PI WRX T25 model ....
Well my 9210i does the job good enough ... my friend load a programme for me from aust. able to detect speed traps with 100m radius from where it is place (my phone) but it will not work with speed cams

The equipment is called a radar/laser detector. The equipment can be easily spotted as it has to be mounted in the middle of the car's wind screen much like the ERP card holder.
