Do car onwer clean their engine cover like some other part got cover 1>?
because i foound out that a lot of people clean outside the car and inside the car but never clean the engine that part 1

well i do...but never ever wash the engine ...can only wipe with dry cloth coz most cars today have electronic components...

yes, clean sometime, since some time you can see collection of oil and dirt on the engine top....ya...dun use water, because there are electrical connections, like oil pressure and temperature sensor around the engine....

Open bonnet,Pour water over engin 1st to losen the dirt, den spray lots of ZIP Away(tat type use to clean the home cooking hood tat type), den later pour water to wash away the foam,also see got any pipe all take out den pour soapy water into it...rinse wid clean water,,,everything will be sparkling clean... Joking nia..dun do it lea..if not, cun start engin at all...
If u really wan to clean engin compartment, use a cotton cloth, spray the cloth wid cleaning solvent, den use it to rub or scrub those places tat is dirty, or can use those WD40...off engin hor....but best if can later rinse te cloth wid clean water den wipe those parts again....also can use contact cleaner... -
use a de greaser, spray on the cloth and wipe.

like last week went a van come to the work shop and do something went i check this engine oil is not half full and the coolant low still cannot see the water also after that inform the owner liao he also like that just drive off the car

if you know your car engine well enuff, you can wash it
i've done it only once, with supervision from my dad. covered up the electrical parts with cloth and the impt parts with plastic bags
soap, and spray away. really clean after that. but, i guess this is not recommended, cause there is a risk and a car ain't something cheap to be messing around with
hmm .... anyone know of professionals who do these sort of cleaning and how much would it cost? approx.? i'm sure lots of car owners here would be interested to know .... -
I dun care so much nowadays.... I just perform my job change all the things and then give the car back to the bugger.... dude.... did the van stop the engine for a long time?? If not, the engine oil will not be full... the best to check engine oil will be at the morning.... cos the nite cools down the whole engine....
coolant low.... next time just top it up with water for them... most van drivers do not use coolant.... after that inform them that you did so... and recommend them to check their radiator coolant or water level next time round.... -

Don't be silly, you can open your bonnet and spray as much water all over the place as you want.
Just don't do dumb things like open battery water thing and spray your water in. -

I signed up membership with CARS. They do washing, waxing, vacuuming etc. everything for $30 per visit. However, one year membership cost around $300+. So you have got to use their service regularly to find it worthwhile.
I think they do clean engines. That day when I signed up with them, they do a full cleaning plus conditioning, also clean my engine.. the whole thing is gleeming.

Cover your altanator and distributor(sotong head) with plastic...
then u can spray your engine bay all you want.. -

come on lah... you can lift up your bonnet and spray your engine bay all you want without being afraid of spoiling anything. Everytime I wash my car I will open the bonnet and spray and wash with the same shampoo i use on the exterior with my car and then wipe dry etc.
anything that is NOT sealed is designed to get wet.
You know why grass is wet in the mornings? Condensation. Yes, same thing happens inside your engine bay, so it is SAFE. Even when it rains or you wash your car confirm water will get in anyway, water can also get in from UNDER the engine bay when you drive on wet roads, open your bonnet and see, the whole engine bay is exposed to the road.
Don't believe you go and ask the car cleaning company if they use plastic to cover the alternator or whatever thing people say need to be covered or not.
this of course does not mean you should drive your car into a swimming pool to test this out. also does not mean you should purposely find exposed holes (like exhaust) in your car and spray water in to see if it still works after that -
If u think u can, you can.... dun cry when ur car cannot start.... Car cleaning copany can do it becos they have a special air gun to blow away the water after cleaning....
By the way, exhaust pipes can be clean with water.... Dun believe ask ur mechanic to do it for you.... -
I'll usually take a damp cloth to simply wipe the surface gently to clean away any dust or mud.
