1) Nissan + Renault -> products yet to be seen...
2) Mazda + Ford -> that's why today's Mazda looks solid and tough and continental....
3) Mitsubishi + Damler Chrysler <- but Damler Chrysler pulled out recently
4) Hyundai + Damler Chrysler <- but Damler Chrysler pulled out recently
5) Daewoo + Chevrolet
6) Toyota + Thaksin (Thailand big boss big)
2004Lancer, to correct your for point one. The below are the extract from Reanult:
Common platforms are being developed to keep pace with the renewal of the two partners' model line-ups.
- B platform: this was the first common platform (Nissan leadership), and was launched by Nissan from March 2002 onwards for the March, Micra and Cube models. It will also be used for the future Renault Clio and Twingo replacement models.
- C platform: this was the second common platform (Renault leadership), and was launched by Renault at the end of 2002 for its new generation Mégane. Nissan is to adapt the platform for use on its future C-segment models. (Sunny will falls under this category)
Cooperation is being stepped up in the development, use and sharing of common powertrain components (engines and gearboxes).
The Alliance also means component exchanges. Renault is using Nissan's V6 3.5-litre engine in Vel Satis and Espace, and Nissan's 4WD transmission in the Kangoo 4x4. It is set to use Nissan's 3-litre diesel engine (ZD30) for the Master and Mascott vans from end-2003 onwards. Nissan has been using a 180 Nm Renault manual gearbox in the Micra and Almera since 2002; the Renault 1.5 dCi engine for the B platform in the Micra since 2003 and in the Almera since 2002; and the Renault 1.9 dCi engine in the Primera since December 2003.
Renault produces Nissan components for both Renault and Nissan: the Renault Cacia plant in Portugal makes Nissan ND manual gearboxes for Nissan Primera, Almera and Almera Tino models assembled in Barcelona, and for the Mégane (since February 2002).
