wat abt yrs?

How to check whether my coe is currently bidding?
I got to ocoe.lta.gov.sg and select "Individual" and key in my dad's IC, it state "no matching record found".
My SA bidding on my behalf, do I still check this way? -

I personally know of a car reviewer (who still reviews cars in the major motoring magazines).
Whenever something not so positive is written about a particular car make, the distributor puts on a black face. And when this friend of mine did some over enthusiastic cornering and scrubbed the tyres, the distributor was unhappy as well.
Whether the Kia Picanto can achieve 15km/l even if you floor the accelerator remains to be seen. -

I almost booked a picanto last month, but somebody asked me to consider vios in front of the SA. So I din book (...think the SA was pretty black face). In the end, din book the vios either... still thinking of picanto cos more affordable...
Anyway, my question is: Does anyone think a picanto can last for 10 years without giving any (major) problem? Usually what kinda problem happen to cars generally and usually when do they surface?

I don't know about the KIA Picanto 1.1litre, at least for now. My first car, in Australia was a 92' Sukuzi Swift 1.3litre (aka Holden Barina, in Australia). When I bought it, it was already more than 8 years old. It works like a wonder; I averaged at over 17km/litre, no less. I sold my car in 2001 to a friend and he is still driving it. I still get to drive it when I go to Perth. It's surprisingly smooth after 12 years. I believe manufactures don't make cars to only last ten years. You must remember, there are people in Australia that drive their car for over 20 years and it still work well. There are even cars that last and last... 50 years?
Back to my first car; the technology on a 92 Suzuki Swift was old and was a carb model unlike most fuel injection models now (Picanto is electric fuel injection). Fuel injected cars seems to be more fuel effective. Newer technology also means more refined overall; from the engine to the tiny little components that aids the car's performance.
It's how you maintain and upkeep your car from day to day driving. If that Suzuki was able to last the way it did... I think newer cars should stand a even better chance (unless the manufacture already decided to make cars for Singapore to last only ten years?).

Actually no, the parf value is pretty much stated at 55% of your OMV. COE comes into play when you want to sell or scrap your car before the ten years..

Honestly, I thought it is overpriced and the interior was very cramped and lots of "Zen" plastic being used, but not very lasting to withhold scratches.
The round shaped interior door handle looks like it could give way anytime. Nice to see, as it blends in with the interior, but not practical at all.
At S$66,300 for the auto version, you may be better off getting the Lancer, Sunny, Liana, Cerato or even Vios. -

Agree. My friend @ M'sia bought 1 when it 1st launch. But now he regret coz d gear box giving off. But my worry is the so called "Campro engine" (m'sia self made) can tahan or not ? He told me his engine is more louder than a waja SOHC engine. 
Further more there's 2 button holes on his dash but even his SA could tell wat r that 4???? -
I test drove the Gen2 & thought the engine was very rough and coarse, much worse than the Kia Rio (which I felt was on the extreme rough side).
It could be 'cos the engine is being run in, but still... it shouldn't be this rough and unrefined. The Cerato engine, which car reviewers mentioned as being "Very Vocal" is still quieter than the Proton Gen2.
