As stated my earlier thread, what you should do is to write to the C&C Managing Director and ask for a firm date that they will deliver your car, failing which C&C has to refund you your deposit in full, plus interest.
Kick up a fuss and victory is on your end. -

... and still have change to spare for a short weekend getaway in the neighbouring countries. -

It should be latest by mid Oct -
If you have already secured the COE, then you have no choice but to live with the fact that you have paid an extra S$3,000 for nothing. If you get your car at around the same time as the other later buyers, you would be really banging your balls. However, I have 3 solutions for you, if you are interested to hear me out. But before this, tell me how much deposit did you put down. Your Picanto a manual or auto? Do you know how to drive a manual car? Do you prefer to drive a manual car or auto car? Dear Fishing7, I don't want to spoilt your mood, but you better double confirm with your SA. If I remember correctly, you book your OPC manual Picanto on 19 July 2004, right? Originally, I have booked mine on 6 June 2004, and my SA has postponed the delivery date time & again to end of October 2004. That is why I gave up on it. Your collection date latest by mid October?? I think the shipment come on sept and latest collection is abt mid october only la... My parent spotted a orange Picanto with coloured mirror and coloured door handle with black side panels at Owen road today. Its the latest shipment I think. I think diamond blue colour a lot is bcos they order a lot of diamond blue, and the SA keep pushing diamond blue, too common I think. Black people dont like mainly bcos of heat and safety visibility in the dark. Hope there wouldnt be too many orange on the road. -

New to here ah..Hear some experts opinion already and would like to ask whether is it worth to buy Kia cars. I am aiming for that Kia Picanto and also I heard that Korean cars aren't that great. For those people that got their Kia, I would like to know hows the fuel consumption like and hows the power like? I wanted to get the manual one but my mother told me that auto. So which one is better? Sorry for asking so many questions. Pandon me!

Worth? In my opinion, it's what you can afford, how you are going to use the car and can you live with a korean car. Who does not want to own a japanese or even european car (in Singapore), but the price difference is just too great. I wanted so bad to get the Honda Fit or Jazz... but the difference of more than $25,000 is just too much for me to bear. (I believe I will end up spending more money if I did get a Fit/Jazz. Yes, larger rims definitely... FC will go down though many have told me Fit/Jazz should have even better FC than Picanto (before they up the rims), after the rims... My uncle whom I recently brought the whole family out comments were: "I don't think the car can go up to the carpark (including me the driver, three adults and three kids), and also highway, you better stay on the left lane". That's before we set off.
This were his comments when I was parking our Picanto on the third storey of a carpark: "The korean makers are really picking up. I cannot believe at 1.1litre, the car is still as powerful yet smooth and quiet".
He also warned me to drive the car with ease, as it's afterall only a 1.1litre engine. I think the engine will stay healthy if you don't drag over 3,500rpm (that's over 120km/hr). This one, i totally agree with him. If you over rev a small engine, the engine will not be as smooth and quiet anymore.
My final conclusion for Picanto. Basic car that is very worth for money, even if you bought it at $3k more, you will ultimately save money in the long run as the fuel consumption is good... forget to mention, driving the car with ease should see the car achieve over 18km/litre after the first few services. Very urban driving should still get you over 14km/litre on a Picanto.

there road show over the weekend at IMM.... i ask the SA if i were to book picanto NOW, when can i recd the car. wat he told me is that i have to wait till end NOV. so long... he said tat now whole worldwide shortage of PICANTO.
So guy.... wish u good luck...
Maybe this is call give n take... cheaper car but longer waiting.... LIFE.....

But there's been 3 postponements.
Initially, we were told that the delivery will be:
1. Early Sept, then it was postponed to
2. Late Sept, then further postponed to
3. Early Oct, now it's
4. Late Oct.
It's anyone's guess that delivery will be further postponed to early November, then late Nov, then early Dec, then late Dec, then early Jan, then late Jan, and it goes on and on and on -
If I want to sell my Picanto after 2 weeks - how much will I lose? I can't drive for nuts on Singapore roads, its too chaotic and stressful.

But I got mine coe le...so never cancel or else have to wait coe bidding again and if suay suay cannot get a bid, then jialat. But my coe super low, 25k only. Dam.n it.
Wat u can do is cancel the order, then forfeit ur 2k.
Then book one again and save 1k.
But I believe c&c will come up with something to make u dont cancel.
Maybe they will throw in a free leather seat and sports rims (maybe only).
but of course have to wait longer la...
And remember to get back all your freebies plus as much as possible to cover the 2k lost. -
