The Lancer Evolution and their drivers...

Not of me to usually start a topic. But heard my friend ranting about Evos and their drivers...
Because to him, it seems that from Evolution IV to Evolution VIII, AYC has always been a part of the car. Since its a driver's aid, the car's drivers take it for granted and then they say the Evo drivers are spoilt silly with stuff like AYC and so forth. Calls the Evolution a LADIES' CAR. Hahaha... and the drivers? Ladies. LOL!!!
Thing is, he says that Evo drivers can't handle the WRX and other cars as effective as the Evolution.
What are your views about it huh guys? -

Hahaha. I guess he's just biased. Well I guess he was talking about the GSR. Active Yaw Control and stuff are great. LoL~ But I won't go to the extent of saying an Evo driver who drives the car can't handle any other car...

Hehe. Nope. Thats why I call him biased. Always ranting about the car aids and stuff. Hahaha... well I love both Mitsubishi and Subaru. But my money's still on Mitsubishi.
Their new Lancer Evo for the WRC looks phreakingly weird. So different from the other Lancer Evos. The way the spoiler's attached. Heard that the chief engineer or whoever was from Peugeot previously? Hence this kinda hatchback kinda alike setup... -

Why don't you ask your friend, STi has DCCD, does this mean that STi drivers "can't handle the WRX"? -

Just because a car is "hard to handle", makes it a faster or better car? Makes the owner "a man"?
You got to be fucking kidding me.
Today's F1 cars are tricked out with electronics, traction control etc and they are much faster than F1 of 40 years ago. They sure are much easier to drive, but they're also safer, at the same time. It can be verified that the current F1 drivers experience higher G forces than ever. Does that mean that we should ignore the achievements of the drivers in the past? I sure don't think so. -
Yeah! Go kart racing is for men! I am trying to explain that there is no difference handling a REX and an EVO.... It is more of a human factor... ur ability to adapt to any cars..... wat EVO drivers cannot handle a REX is totally out of point..... same goes to a REX driver cannot handle an EVO....
Those without such equipments like power steerings are pretty much cars be4 90s... if u have driven in those 1980s RX7 or 70s celica u will understand that it is rather difficult to handle such machines... and realise how fortunate one is now that it is equiped with gd technologies....
The next point being that those cars without power steerings and gd brakes actually are harder to handle than the ones with and equiped with such technology is true....
nowadays alot have been replace by electronics.... given the lack of electronics in the past a lot depends on the drivers skills and thus the level of skill needed is much higher..... -
In a sense, I agree with you, but I disagree that the drivers of yore are necessarily better than today's. In fact I feel that today's drivers are better, skillwise, and possibly in terms of physical fitness as well. The reason is that although technology has improved to allow average drivers to be better, it has also allowed good drivers to be legendary which is simply not possible with older technology. yesterday when i was driving along clementi road, this black rx-8 chiong from the 3rd lane to my 1st lane. dont really hate the driver, but at times like this, i hope i was driving an Evo and chiong with these pple driving fast cars.... sigh~
think i need to grow out of this, else dangerous to other road users.. -
