relax dude...nothing to worry...Originally posted by Alex Wong:recently.. there is a yellow indicator appearing on the car screen. the picture shows like a tap or duno what...
anyone knows what went wrong??
thanks alot. the light do went off when i restart engine..but appear again later. how much to change the sensor?Originally posted by OneDoubleManTayar:relax dude...nothing to worry...
there are only 2 yellow lights on the indicator...
one is for the fuel level
the other one that i'm sure is showing right now is the engine sensor. if u turn off the engine and on again the light goes off??i experienced that not to long ago. if that is the symptom, then continue reading...
if u open ur hood/bonnet...somewhere to the left of the oil dipstick area there is a sensor attached to the engine...looks like a sparkplug with a wire attached to the tail. that's ur problem.
at first i thought it was serious...took my car to Kah Motors...thought they were going to do some complicated, computer board programming, sophisticated repairs...later...found out that they only changed the sensor...
so my suggestion would be to take ur car to an ordinary workshop...or ur favourite workshop...tell them u suspect that that sensor is faulty...but do let them check for other things also, just in case i'm wrong...
hope that solves the mystery of the yellow light...![]()
yup...i think that's the light...but the dude was able to start his car...so i think it's just a `change the sensor' issue...which if i can remember costs 200++bucks at Kah Motors...maybe cheaper elsewhere...Originally posted by kohanson:hrmm, that light could be the ecu light if its on the bottom right hand corner.. when that light is on, i think you will not be able to start your car. Must wait for the light to go off before starting. You turn the ignition to II, den wait for the light to go off then you go to III to start the engine.
i've had my 93 esi for 4+years and u're right...problems just keeps coming like u wouldn't believe...makes a grown man cry. But this sensor problem is unrelated to the others that u mentioned though. so let's hope the car stays `healthy' for a whileOriginally posted by STiYaKuzA:big trouble... i got this problem with my esi and decided finally to part with it. too many problems occured in my esi--constant overheating(need to turn off engine when cruising on expressway), damper worn out leading to 'auto-steering'
, wierd engine grinding noises, high FC, leaking radiator, blah blah... then one fine day this orange lamp with an engine symbol came on and i was told that my esi vtec sensor got problem, can be quite unpredictable results... so i decided to change car, and i am happily driving a '03 civic vti. how long have u driven your esi? mine is 10 years, and i recommend that u change ur car. if u have driven for that long, other problems like that listed above may occur even if u get the sensor fixed. so the choice is up to u
