Starting the engine

hi....guys......i always start my car's engine, travel for a short distance (say 2km),then turn it off again....
does doing this spoil the engine?? -
Dun worry it will not spoil the engine....
But it is better to leave the engine on for a while be4 u turn off... tat is to burn the excess fuel away....

Should be no problem. 2km is quite a distance that actually warm up the car to the desired temp already.

i saw on my friend's daihatsu YRV got a 1 min timer so that when he 'off' the engine... it will still run for one minute before actually shutting down...
issit also to let the fan cool the engine? -
That's a turbo timer. Since most turbos share the same oil as the engine, the purpose of the turbo timer is to keep the oil circulating in the engine and around the turbo bearings for some time, allowing it to cool more, especially if the car had been driven hard. I am sure u know the function of a turbo timer on a turbo car rite?? It can be fitted to a NA to help the cooling down of the engine.... that includes the burning of excess fuels that is still running in the engine..... If u dun have a turbo timer.... a cheap way of doing it is to let the engine run for a while longer at stationary position.... turbo and NA. -
