hi guys... need help here...
if i wanna go into malaysia n drive a malaysia registered car, is that possible?
do i have to convert my license or do anything?
cos i planning to go malaysia wif my frens next mth then go drive around a bit... haha...
will appreciate it a lot if every1 can tell me wat needs to be done.

got pple rent malaysian cars to drive in malaysia... if u dun want to drive ur car in..... actually, safer.....

yeah...dun worry.... juz remember to be extra car along your trip.... keep your car lock at all times if possible... park at those "better" locations.... anyhow park..... higher chance of kena from pros.....
remember to ve ur passport chopped!!!
juz few weeks back.... 1 sgp car kena at checkpoint.... big hooha.... the custom officer..... u see their faces.... haa haa.... they must be enjoying the helplessness of the sgporean!!!

As long as u hav a singapore driving licence, u can drive in Malaysia
U can drive a Singapore car or a Malaysia car, no problem.

that time dunno who told me have to do a $20 convertion to my license at Automobile Association...
then make me now blur blur... -
The conversion is for the LHD license i heard .. and for the international ones .... but if you are driving to M'sia its safe to drive in a herd then alone .... if you are like going with one car it is advisable to rent ... try their Waja ... its not bad for a m'sian car ... or their M'sian Camry ...Originally posted by tetsumi:oooo... thanks a lot!

actually our licence is recognised in most commonwealth countries... and US too.... but before you go, can check with the local rental car agent through the net.... I did it when renting in Australia... but if u want extra safe can convert your licence to an international one....

the verdict is out!
i called up TP, then they refer me to AA.
AA told me i have to convert my license, $20 for the convertion,
need to bring IC, license, 2 passport sized photos.
btw... for those still under 1 yr probation, no need to hang the xia suay malu P-plate in ur car in malaysia.. LoL!

Actually...not reccomended to drive SGP plate cars in.....those TPs like 2 victimise us...and the locals too....our cars are a target for thieves rather than their own local cars

The thefts also target malaysian cars as well....look at malaysian forum.... the owner there also actively looking into ways to prevent themselves becoming the target....

i have driven to KL for quite a number of times...what u said...i really dun know. but overall it is still safe to drive there. just be careful. that's all. -

my bro drove the 2 litres waja b4... he say the engine damn responsive n powerful sia... dunno how true is that.
proton lehz... a bit condemn by many pple.. LoL!
but i dun really condemn proton lahz... they quite value for $$.
