What are the pros and cons abt such a trans ?

CVT usually gets the last laugh in terms of fuel efficiency over an auto gearbox

Smooth - You basically can't feel or hear the gear change
Fuel efficiency
Cons:
No power...but subjective as I only tried the Lancer GLXi 1.6. Not sure about City or other cars. Anyone can confirm/comment? -
I dunno if tis is a problem abt CVT.There was once my whole family was driving to Malaysia,the car suddenly lost power even thought it is in D.Then we stop at the road shoulder and my Dad turn off the engine.When he wans to start the engine again,he starts it and notice tt the D on the meter is flashing.Even thought the gear is engage in D,the car still cant move even though the accelerator is pressed.But after a few more attempts,the car finally moved.After it is service,i ask my dad wad happen.He told me maybe is the gearbox oil is too hot.Well,he was not very sure too.Btw,my dad is driving a Honda Civic VTI(1.5model).
The gd thing abt CVT is tt u wont feel the car jerk when u change gear. -
by right, there is no changing of gears in a CVT. rather, the ratios are continously changing to match the engine RPMs so it will be kept at the point where the torque and bhp curves intersects each other. anyway for power, yes i agree. could see my sis pressing with her life on the accelerator trying to get it to move
