Kia CERATO

Kia has just launched CERATO (http://www.kia-cerato.com/) last weekend. Saw this car at the showroom and was attracted to the price, design and great accessories. The engine looks like Renault Megane ! Only the sedan version is brought into Singapore. Read that it is developed to penetrate the US market and achieved good sales.
Have anyone test-drive this babe ? Do you have any opinion on buying Kia esp. existing Kia owners ? -
no rear disc brakes... no abs... no airbags..

It's all in the mind..... if u drive safely..... you wont need all these... and god will bless you.....
If you drive recklessly.... the best safety device and mechanism also cannot protect you life and, but, most importantly, the lives of other road users.....

Unlike other Kia's siblings, the brochure does show that Cerato has air bags and ABS. These are absent in Picanto. Cerato is a 1.6 liter car with a DOHC engine, running at 105ps/5800 rpm and 14.6kg-m/4500rpm max torque.
At the moment, it is just a soft launch for this car...too early for opinions from the public whose focus is still on the colourful Picanto. Just wait for local reviews to tell us something then

hmm... but do u know at this price C&C stripped the car almost bare juz to lower the cost?
this car actually came with airbags and 4 disc brakes as stock. other details i'm not too sure... -
True tat the CERATO is worth the money. I think there is a airbag on the driver's side. Agreed tat drive carefully and be alert at all times, without the safety devices it is all right just like my PICANTO.

Though Cerato is 10K more than Picanto, I think this is a good deal .... waiting to be discovered. The hatchback version appeals to me much better but I suppose they will only consider bringing it in after assessing response on the sedan model.
Like Hyundai, Kia still has some convincing to do.
