Wat type of petrol shld i use? 95 or 98

Hi guys!~ i juz got an 8 yr Nissan March less than a mth ago.. have been using 98 petrol ever since, but hesistating on 95.. cos i think might have an effect on the pick-up.. esp aft stopping n moving off at traffic light junctions.. hmm.. any1 care to advice on type of petrol 2 use? cos petrol prices are really ex now.. hahaha..
Btw is it true dat SPC's petrol for the grade are lousier than Mobil n Shell? cos my frens they all say the petrol no power.. though its cheaper a bit.. -
personally i feel that 92 is better. .. i always pump 92, as it is the most fuel efficiency as it contain lesser methane.... 98 will finish faster cos it burns faster contain more methane...
personally lar i feel that there is not much difference but some frens told me that if u use 98, ur car is stronger.. -
basically no matter wat SPC or mobil or shell or watever petrol station, its the same... i m driving a lancer and have been pumping from SPC at hougang here (cos v cheap 10% discount) and i dun find any difference.... u want more power? off ur aircon and wind down ur window.. ur car cfm more power than usual..
u want car more power? use 98 but petrol finish damn fast... my lancer is 1.3 litre i pump full tank 92 can use for ard 1 and a half weeks (travelling from hougang to yio chu kang everyday) if i pump 98, less than 1 week finish... -

How come no one mentioned Shell V-Power? I used that all along...very good pick up...cost a little more though..
Calculated using 98 and Shell V-power...only save about $2.50 per top up..... -

i am driving 1.3 car... i duno abt 1.6 whether will spoil engine anot... but i dun find any difference in picking up leh.... its like the same... juz that ur car is more abit reactive to ur acceleration...

I drove the Lancer. I always pump 92. I read up the car's manual, it says use Octane 90 and above. So 92 is higher than 90... Anyway, with the CVT, dun feel much even if power increase

nowadays, most drivers will actually prefer to use 98 cos it is suppose to be the purest among all..... at least in singapore context..... of cos shell have it's v- power. But wel, let's just stick to the topic.....
just look at ur car's instruction manual for advise.... they will state the recommanded fuel code.... -
the 95 and 98 for a fuel is like how efficient that petrol can combust right? like maybe if you pump 98 out of 100% of petrol injected into the engine 98% of it will be combust. can anyone clarify this with me? i'm a noob with this.
and issit true that 98 and 95 are of different viscosity? and that newer cars can afford to use petrol of lower viscosity like 95 and older cars are recommended to petrol of higher viscosity to make the engine run smoother?
and is it ok to mix two types of fuels (i.e u pump 95, use until nearly finish den pump 98 )?

u can mix fuel and it is perfectly fine....
older version fuel is cheaper however is not as pure as the newer ones.... more impurities in the fuel that result in more carbon built up and a stickly layer of greese that is form when the the petrol is being burn... prolong usage will affect performs in a way..... -

RON 95 is good enough for most cars.

Natasha had tried v-power, shell 98, mobil 8000 and SPC 98
Verdict
V-power : good at pick up and gaining speed. Car more responsive but my fish drinks it fast. 5 days oni need to pump again.
Shell 98 : so far gives me the best mileage among all. smooth on my Natasha
Mobil 8000 : Same price as Shell 98 but engine beri noisy and Natasha sounds so stressful. Need to depress more before car respond.
SPC 98 : Yucks!! -

well, few engines can really utilise the power of 98, not much of a difference one loh....just gimmicks.

The higher the octane number, the better the fuel's resistance to knocking (when fuel in the cylinder burns spontaneously, wasting fuel and causing damage to your engine).
RON 92 is safe for older Japanese cars....minimum recommended number is RON 95 for newer cars. RON 98 is just a little more expensive. -
