"S" alphabet number plate

  can anyone enlighten me on this. i saw a couple of new cars with number plate starts from "SW XXXX" is this a new numbering system?

  its a very old numba plate they brought over to their new car OR its some embassy car cant remember...either one

  Think "S_ XXXX" number plates are the batch before the three letters number plates comes out starting from SBA.
  
  Recently saw quite a number of cars with these kind of number plate reappearing on our roads...say a few years ago, it will consider rare to see one or two...wonder is LTA putting these plate up for bidding or something...Anyone knows?

  and some of them drive quite recklessly too...
