Hoping to buy 2nd hand car, any advice?

  Hi all,
  
  I am looking to buy a second hand car. Hopefully one that is not too old, maybe about 2-3 years old. I am open to any make/model, mostly becos i dont really know that much abt the detailed differences between them. Hence i am willing to consider jap/korean/cheap conti cars...
  
  My concerns are resale value, FC, cost of car, & looks (am a young family man).
  
  Would the brothers & sisters here have any suggestions? I was considering the Corolla G9, a Getz or Matrix, Peogeot 206, Liana hatch... etc.
  
  Pls help... Oh, also, anybody knows where would be a good place (online or otherwise) to meet owners who want to sell directly? Dont want to let 2nd hand dealers earn...

  tot the G9 will be nice..... dats in my consideration list should i decide to get a 2nd hand car....
