sigh...yest HENG@ tested out my car.....realised that the tyres are WAY to worn out...but on the outside they look fine to me....cos the thread is still clearly visible....went driving at south bouna vesta RD this morning...cornering at abt 45km/h with 5 ppl total in the car....tyres were screeching....which is wierd....then 4 me on the way back.....I nearly lost control cos the tyres suddenly lost traction thru the corner...I think while heng was driving back home he encountered this too....can anyone explain y is that so? tyre threads are still clearly visible but there is very poor grip.....my tyres FYI are abt 1 1/2 years liao...Bridgestone Dueler H/T....any good brands 2 reccomend 2 replace them?

First and foremost how old are your tires?? The screeching sound is not becos of the worn out tyres but other factors.... like u got a lousy tyres installed onto the car.... and maybe corning a sharp angle at a fast speed....
The lose of control might be becos of wet road, oil or sand... orelse you brake too hard while trying to stop the car into the speed for cornering.... some parts of the road actually cannot be turned fast without going into the opposite lane.... so it is best to train up ur judgement be4 attempting going downslope.....

There's a few construction going on around there and once i saw some sand on the road which caused me to understeer. -
is not the sand cause the problem ... its the driver skills ... think about this ... F1 car tyre also bold but it has superior grip mah ...
Maybe because there is 5 person in the car and your tyre has worn quite badly ... should change the sets ASAP before something happens
