SMS is dangerous!

Today i was driving along west coast road turning into popular cheese prata shop. Before the turn, this lady driver driving very slowly on the 2nd lane so i cut into 3rd lane since i am turning right she suddenly swerve slowly into my lane. I tot she din see me so i horn lightly to warn her. when i drive past her, she was smsing. wa zan.. straightaway, i damn piss off and horn her loudly. she stare at me and drove straight off. so dangerous!! i dunno why i was kana from lady drivers. I swear i am not discriminating ladies but weverytime on the road, either they bloack people;'s lane or they alwasy in their own world and like to swerve right or left without looking. Y Y Y? can someone pls tell me!

not just ladies lah, guys oso liddat...just tat they would talk on the phone without a earpiece....

also seen guys doing that b4. basicially, dun use your hp unless u have a hands free set, and even then, it can still distract u. i usually find somewhere safe to stop, like a car park etc, to call back.

It's illegal to SMS or use a phone without a handsfree device while driving. No pity should be given to such people.

you guys must have not seen ah pek trying to dial his handphone and travelling like 50km/h on the extreme right lane without his lights on? ... it happened few weeks ago i can't remember excatly when ... but damn dangerous ... i almost ram into his back ... sommore driving a hatchback ... if i really ram .. i think both of us will be killed ... imagine 120km/h knock into a 50km/h when in a bend in CTE?
They should be shown no pity man ... as agreed in the earlier thread .... they should be jailed for these and license revoked man

SINGAPORE : Traffic Police detained 210 motorists for various offences in a six-hour operation on Friday night.
Most were caught for speeding - 103 motorists!
A total of 18 motorists were stopped for drink driving, while 88 were found to have made illegal modifications to their vehicles.
One motorist was also arrested for driving without a valid driving licence.
The operation, which also involved Land Transport Authority enforcement officers, was conducted in Ang Mo Kio, Tampines, Clementi, and the Pan Island and Seletar Expressways.
The Traffic Police said regular operations helped raise awareness of road safety and get motorists to comply to traffic rules and regulations.
It said accidents due to speed-related factors had increased by 22 cases to 288 cases in the first three months of this year, compared to the same period last year.
Motorists convicted of speeding can be fined up to $2,000, jailed up to six months and have their driving licence suspended. - CNA -

i heard someone is able to read documents while driving.
so my response to that was: did he paste the document on the wheel to read, or did he plaster the documents all over his windscreen? -
there was once i took a cab from woodlands to paya lebar when i was abt 5mths pregnant.... the cab was on the expressway and the cab driver got an incoming sms... he was travelling at abt 100-110km n he simply kept 1 hand on the wheel and the other typing an sms on his hp.... i was scared stiff... cos half of the time his eyes werent on the road and he was going so fast....
eventually i reached my destination in one piece n decided not to complain him to the cab company cos was thinking dun wanna break people's ricebowl during bad times... -

Using SMS or when HP is active also posed a hazard when u are refueling and the UHF signals may also render ur ABS ineffective.

Its ok if the offender dies him/herself, but to drag others with him/her, kind of not worth it leh.
Perhaps harsher penalties should be imposed. Fines are getting kind of light nowadays. -
