Hi guys.
I'm currently learning at SSDC with a private instructor.
What to do if you don't like your driving instructor huh?
You see, he hold on to your PDL and your test date reciept..
What if he booked the test date already? Can just ask other instructors to take over?

my friend introduce one.
After learning first lesson, told me to learn from another private instructor first...then until 1+ month before the test date, then go back to him. 2 different cars! 2 different driving centre instructors, that's why I only drive twice in SSDC circuit, then take test..
Before this, training only in Ubi circuit. Immediate failure coz wrong course.
Like that nvm..
After fail liao, ask him to book next date, never follow up for me..
Call him after didn't hear from him, say he didn't bring his book...ask me to call him back..
Another day call him, say he is teaching, will revert back to me..
Then, to my surprise, my TP last time in June, next test date is end of September!!??!! SSDC test date wait for so long one meh??
Anyone got any advise plz?? -

Heard from somewhere that any qualified driver can also become instructor one leh...is it true?? -

ok alfa...government no longer allowed people from registering as a private instructor....actually from the start you should have started from private friend-intro instructor (if that instructor had good passing record).....SSDC or those centre-centric type of training is lousy because they have rotating young instructors...some behave like ah beng...no standard....some behave like VITB or ITE people...(no offence ok).........some very hao lian.....some very sarcastic.......for the above reasons, you tend to have older and experienced drivers as private instructors since government no longer issues instructor licence.

if not, everybody else use their own car to learn liao..no need instructors..hehe..

The instructor I knew no longer teach liao (retired).
Intro me to this one which is his friend. KNN.. Wrong move..
Now I sure change instructor if I fail the September test again..
Anyone done this before? Would I have to wait for 6 months becase they would think I'm a first timer because I switched instructor? -
what u should do in case u swap to private instructor is to pester him to book test date for you as soon as you feel you are confident enough to take the test but i think there is a minimum hours u need to clock before he can book for you.....some private instructor act blur and continue to train you (so he does not need to take in a new learner having to go through the beginning learning process all over again)....while you as a seasoned learner, he can sit back and rest (less stressful as compare to really newbie).... it is a WIN-WIN situation coz he also earns money from you at the same time a more peace of mind over newbie.......

btw not all passed drivers can be instructors.. -

He took his buddy car to learn in the carpark during the wee hours of the night ... then his buddy was in the passenger sit ... then he damn suay tp happen to enter the carpark to look for toilet when tp saw them my friend panic then stall the engine ... so the tp went over to check them ... and they were hauled to the police station.
The charge ... my friend's buddy(owner of the car) License revoked ban for 5 years car kena chiong kong by gov
The other one without license, ban for life in singapore because of bad attitude to judge and to TP + smoking the TP that his PDL was a vaild license to drive on the road

as far as i concerned, it's not easy to obtain test date as longer than 6 mths for re-test as private practical trainee.

If u want to change to another instructor, u must take back yr doc ie PDL & test date receipt. But at the meantime before u take back fm him it is best to source for another pte instructor if u know yr test date cos not all pte instructors can take u if yr test date & timing of test coincide with their existing students.Originally posted by Alfa:Hi guys.

My former instructor was quite good as some of the school instructor sometime recommend students to him. Most of his student passed within 3 attempt while some quick one passed at 1st attempt except my wife, her legs was trembling so badly that she could hardly ctrl the clutch. Luckily she passed on her 4th attempt. But he only teaches at Ubi Comfort. Unless u are interested to switch to Ubi which is very heavily traffic & the centre had the lowest passing rate as compare to other centre. -
My first driving instructor has BAD BREATH & BO!!!>. He is FAT, UGLY n has a OILY smell...
lagi worse the car has no air-con..no power steering - 20 year old Jap car..( about 7 years ago)....
Stopped learning after 3 lessons...really cannot take it!!!...
Later change into a more decent driving instructor...can't remember his name..
but can definitely remember his car plate XX 2000 X Nissan SUNNY.
I still see his car around on the roads sometimes...quite a nice guy, but didn't have time to finish the local driving test as I had to leave SG for study....
Later in sydney, i had a HongKie lady to be my instructor. ( only female chinese MANUAL instructor in sydney ) She was GREAT!!!
Not really pretty, but a very nice lady..i think late 20's..i was only 20-21 then.
SHe is very cool, instead of driving the OFFICIAL TEST routes, she made me drive to those ' MAKE OUT ' places! hahahah....esp. those romantic beaches...very very nice scenery...( she told me that those TEST routes very boring..use HER routes ..better...got MORE USE in the future!)
Told me she almost KENA eaten by OLDER guys esp. 30's plus...even mid 20's guys ask her OUT....BF very jealous..so she got AGE limit for guys..lucky for me!...
She told me b4...she feels quite 'SAFE' with me...so she brought me to those 'PERSONAL TEST ROUteS'....
From my experience, gender does matter to a certain extent...different teaching styles...she was a bit talkative...talk cock a bit...but still very PROFESSIONAL...got write down all my mistakes...n go through with me all the time...why i go wrong..ways to improve.....
IN any case, i pass my driving test in OZ ( OZ also not very easy ..but i will definitely say..that are more PROFESSIONAL N FAIR even though u ar asia)......came back n gave that STUPID UGLY BITCH @ TP - $20 bucks ( i think ) n got my SG licence!!!
SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

Maybe AMK different.
Ubi a lot of traffic but I heard the passing rate is better.
AMK one I heard is more strict.
One more thing about Ubi is, if traffic very heavy, the instructor is pleased with you, he'll ask you to U-turn back to centre and pass you right away...

Coz must have the L-plate in the car lah, then must have proper insurance coverage... The person beside mus be qualified drivin inst... Alot la...
Even if the inst from school they got licence rite, they cannot teach outside privately... Also illegal... The licence for school n private inst is diff... -

Ya lor... I so suggest u don use ur bro car... Wait u kena caught or wat... PDL so can deduct pt de leh... Wait minus pt, then jia lat... Cannot go tak tp test... Coz Tp test so mus have less than 13 dermits pts lor...
Plus u not used to the car... N different people will teach diff... Esp those qualifed for v long liao... They tend to have cultivated some bad habits over the yrs... Haha...
Me only mths n already cultivated some liao...

trust me..... if you got the skills it dusent matter where u take... have confidence sure will pass one... lol.... i believe that once you are able to handle your car all the external factors like traffic and such shouldn't afftect you much. my 2 cents.

Alfa, just tell your private instructor you wanna change instructor. Nothing wrong with that coz you're paying. All those lousy instructors are still out there bcoz you guys just keep quite all the time (kia si singaporean). If you are thinking he might be able to affect your next test result if you don't learn from him, which is impossible.
As for AMK or UBI which centre easier to pass, it all depend on your driving skills. IF YOUR DRIVING IS POOR DON'T BLAME THE CENTRE OR THE TRAFFIC. Just go for more lesson. Driving a different car doesn't really affect a good driver. Bcoz they usually adapt to a new car in 1-2 lessons.
FYI, students from schools have priority for test dates. Why do you think they are paying more for?
