Need advise,
As understand,
Mineral oil must be changed on every 5,000km.
Fully synthetic oil on every 10,000km.
How abt those semi-synthetic or synthetic based engine oil?
Should it be change on what mileage? -

Go for the fully syn ones ... last longer .... i usually drag to 11000 before i visit Tan Chong to change it

8000km.... Is there any expiry date?
Meaning have to change by half year or one year for any type of oil? -

i change my oil at around 5k. And i use cheap Full syn oil.
although some swear by mobil 1 and stuff. to me i feel that if i am changing every 5k, it doesnt matter what brand i use.

I never heard of any car that breaks down due to no engine oil change...

oh no no no....i agree with jiayong that engine oil if can use cheap one (SPC one costing only $76 for full sync type) just use cheap one and replace as frequent as possible.....what Jiayong is doing is giving his car engine a clean room for breathing......cleaner engine oil will leads to smoother, powerful drive and longer life....etc........
just go for cheaper full sync and change every 5000 (but i will add another 2000) -

I would like to, but need to wait till my warranty with C&C due....... -
Lancer947, same here...i will wait till my warranty with C&C ends, then i will find my own service centre to change engine oil......
anyway, one of friends (a very high ranking senior police officer) drove into Malaysia to change engine oil and ended up with a half-filled engine......they JIA CHIN TAO.....top up half only......so better be careful for those who wanna go Malaysia to do engine oil change.....
can u imagine, my friend is a senior officer with CID also kena conned by them....who else they dare not con???
