hey, i passed for 4 years liow... n havent been driving, except for mayb once or twice during tis period.... now dat i'll be starting to drive, i do feel a bit scared.... tried my fren's manual car and my hands and legs ka lang ka boh... luckily getting an auto car.... so just need to step accelerator and brake to control the car.... + look ard for any hazards when on the road.... so not so bad.... if no auto car, think i will stick to public transport....Originally posted by ahkico:After u pass, n u nev drive liao... no. such ghost drivers should go for a recourse. people like my sister's boyfriend don't even know the basics of driving after passing for 3 years coz he never drive. and he is those first time passer as well. people like my sister should also go for a recourse, pass third time, got drive at intervals, driving still as bad, plus she is very unaware of road conditions. got motor bike park along the road she also never see, i gotta swerve the sterring wheel to prevent an accident. she was probably travelling at 40-50kmph. sheesh.
bottom line, when you haven't driven for a long time, do yourself and the road users a favour by going for a recourse and make sure you remember your stuff. -

Think should be ok lah. Just like when you learn driving, you become more confident. i even ovetake cars during driving lesson.
More practice lah, initially malu abit coz will definitely do these things
1. Engine stall.
2. 5th gear change to 4th may go into 2nd gear
3. Move off car with wrong gear or no gear engage.
Be confident and think safe, should be ok -
My advise is that you should try to avoid the congested areas for a start. Also try to avoid Peak hours goin to CBD, Eunos, Paya Lebar, Macpherson etc.
It will be good to do some driving either between 10-11am, 2:30pm - 4pm and also after 10pm along the Highways to gather some confidence and also the awareness of driving conditions around these 3 timings. Night driving is slightly different from day driving.
Lastly try to put on the "P" plate say for a few months cos S'poreans generally dun tolerate slow, cumbersome and undesisive drivers especially during Peak Hours. A "P" plate hanging would minimise "horns" and maybe even "stares" or "foul Vocab / Handsigns"
