Car Servicing

  Different dealer give different car servicing timetable.
  
  Toyota, typically request service 1K, 5K, 10K
  Mazda request service at 5K, 10K ...
  Renault said the 1st service will only happen at 20K!
  
  Anybody know why different cars have different service time table? I quite doubt the 20K 1st time service for renault. Could it be due to they want to cut down the maintaince cost for competetion and purposely extend the service time?

  My Protege's first servicing was at 5k... Was told by my SE that the 1k servioing was pre-done in the factory itself

  some makes especially conti cars have long drain feature. bmw, saab and ford cars are some that can tahan so long also.

  I think that's bullshit. You means when you got the car, it is already 1k? Where got such thing....

  i was advise to go for 1k servicing for my Nissan , and 8k servicing for my Volvo ... how come first servicing is at 20K Bull crap man ... better double check

  It's not that it has been used on the roads for 1k but its factory-runned so its like some sort of simulated run-in which does not require the car to run for 1k... All newer models of Mazda cars are like this which I dun mind since I am given 3 free servicing and if I can skip the 1k servicing, I can use them on the 5k, 10k and 15k which are more ex =p
