I notice that the gap between the tyre and body for front and rear tyres are different.
The gap in front is bigger. Front got 3½ finger gap and rear got 2 finger gap.
Why is it so? Is it normal? Is it the suspension is weaker?

not sure how true is this .... but, maybe cause the front tyres hit the holes or humps first?

One logical reason is that during heavy braking .. the car will lurch forward, thus u scrunching the front suspension, so u need slightly more clearance infront

Aulf, agree with your logical reason. But not all cars is like this. I do see it in Altis, Vios, City.....
BTW, I did a study of Lancer on the road, 8 out of 10 is like that.
2004Lancer, how abt your?

actually the rear gap can have no gap meaning...you can cover the whole rear type with wheel guard or whatever you call it....
the front needs tougher suspension coz of the weight of the engine thus extra load thrust when going over hump + to cater for the front wheels to turn and protrude outward....
logical right?

Is it because you have something heavy in your boot?
