Nissan Sunny VS Toyota Corolla Altis

*Hijacked from Altis club*
To all Altis owners, anyone face these following problems after driving Altis for a few months?
1) Hear wind sound from window
-> No problems with the Sunny
2) noisy engine
-> Very quiet but roars when accel is slammed
3) braking got sound from brake disc.
-> Nope unless ABS sounds when brake pedal is depressed damn hard
4) vibration on high speed
-> Very stable, BUT during the 130km/h - 140km/h there is a slight vibration on the steering, after that power steering cuts ... very stable leow
5) water vapour in head lamp
-> Nope ... never hear sunny has that happening
Btw, how you guys rate Altis over nissan sunny?
-> Damn it will be good if this friendly war starts ... can give car buyers some info -

After I have driven a COROLLA...how can I bring myself to sit in an ALTIS? Lousy handling and lousy car. Nissan is worse. Now I just wan my Honda hahahaha...j dun kill me huh u all....

personally i feel toyota on the whole is better for its durability..i have got a fren who got problems with his nissan sunny after reaching 70,000km in 3 yrs..but the picnic which my dad drives start having problems only at 200,000km in yr4..now changed to a altis..pretty good car..quiet..but engine doesnt react that fast..any modification can help?

Toyota is still my number one brand. When I was contemplating to buy a new car while driving my KIA
is that I MUST BUY A TOYOTA. Toyota is just so deeply entrenched in my mind. I borrowed my fren's COROLLA to drive ard and decided that I want one for myself. BUT ALAS....stupid TOYOTA announced that only ALTIS will be sold....and when I test it...it sux man...not that it is bad..it is ok but those who have driven a corolla before..frankly u like the ALTIS? -
Altis are for those practical kinda of people. Cos save on FC.
Sunny are for people with some budget but wanna japanese car.
Lancer are for youngsters lah. Basically, i dont see much difference on the new lancer compare to last model except for its face lift.
Civic are for those rich people. But not so rich to get a BMW or Merc.
Just my own opinion. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Sunny = budget compared to Altis? Not that budget lah, my friend. The SS version is close to Altis in terms of pricing.
For lancer, it is not called a Face-Lift model for nothing. Face lift means slight difference in look only mah. -
I tried both Altis and Sunny during my test drive. I even test drived a Altis a few times because can use it a kind of benchmark to compare with other cars. Now I am renting a Sunny before my new car coming.
To be frank, I like Sunny a bit more, very personal feeling only
1. The car is heavier so more stable
2. driving position is lower
3. no much woodlike plastic in the cabin
4. Sunny is made in Jap, reliability is proven. Corolla is proven to be reliable. But the Thailand made Altis is another story. To talk about reliability, wait for 10 year first. Change a whole line to another country and claim the quality is totally not affected. That's bullshit.
5. Sunny is cheaper in both price and maintaince cost -
tried both, personally feel altis better -> bigger, FC better than Sa Nee...

Much more than that. Brands like Audi, Citron, Peugeut, Mazda, honda and etc all have factories in China. Even BMW are building factory there. Wait and see, a few years later, the world will be flooded with China made cars. But... the problem with Altis... is that it is a car with no character... it tries to be too many things at the same time... result it is not here nor there...
but somehow it still manages to clinch first spot in first quarter 2004 sales... Camry came in a surprising 4th... beating CEFIRO?? maybe people are snapping up the last of the japanese models.. VIOS which cost $40k less came in only 5th...picnic picked up 9th position.. how come i don't see more of picnic.. to capped the illustrious quarter, Corolla G9 makes its last appearance in the top 10 charts despite registrations of Altis as early as February.. -
