Lancer till like EVO, for the evo 5 and 6 still not too difficult but for the 7 & 8 think it will involve installing different (EVO) body panels,....got ppl so on....now that is the "ch'ng chia" masterOriginally posted by bismarck:more common ones are or rather equally common ones are lancers looking like an evo.
until i have no idea evo or lancer...
actually 3,4,5,6 can be done..Originally posted by saab95:Lancer till like EVO, for the evo 5 and 6 still not too difficult but for the 7 & 8 think it will involve installing different (EVO) body panels,....got ppl so on....now that is the "ch'ng chia" master
But seriously, I had not the previlege of spotting a poseur 7 & 8 yet. Or they so well done, I cannot even tell
oh dear. well. many cars out there are done up this way. Its the bling factor i guess.Originally posted by saab95:Anyone ever encounter poseur cars on the road? They are so nicely bodykitted with mean sounding exhaust systems, they can have even seasoned car enthusiasts fooled. Personally, I have been fooled by some impreza 1.6 TS....everything including the interior was done up as per STI spec, only thing was the red brake calipers.....not the golden colour normally found on STI...but still I almost bought it until the fella floored the car. Engine note rises NOWHERE as fast as an STI and no PSST or BOV leh. Of course not fast also
While I can appreciate the work and effort put into detailing a car, I think drivers of 'replica' cars should not race other cars, you will remove all doubt about the true credentials of your cars.
Today I had my first encounter with a poseur M3, yep it had quad exhausts, M3 styled side sills, M3 badge, M3 styled bumpers, skirts....anyway I was convinced it was an M3....and that bronze yellow colour so unmistakedly M3! Driver revving engine....engine note very nice, until lights went green, engine very loud....but how come cannot even keep pace with me and a passat ABT beside....we have not even floored our pedals...just a brief step-offInitially, I did not even press the accelerator much as M3 is way above my league (no use to challenge) but the pseudo M3 was so sluggish, it was HARD not to leave him behind.
Actually, immediately I knew the car was a dud....have seen how fast a M3 can really go. Think the car was a nicely done up 318 CI....not even a 320CI as a 320 definitely has stronger performance.
i have. a fake 7. the problem is, the wider front bumpers stick out at both sides since the lancer has a slightly narrower body. or there is a noticable gap in the tyre wells in another fake 6 i saw. often, the bodykit would be slightly ill fitting. Anyways the fake 6 i saw had the puny stock exhaust so it was a dead giveaway.Originally posted by saab95:Lancer till like EVO, for the evo 5 and 6 still not too difficult but for the 7 & 8 think it will involve installing different (EVO) body panels,....got ppl so on....now that is the "ch'ng chia" master

but then again, there r some cars which u might think are TS pretending to be WRacts, but, they are actually STi's pretending to be TSes. One i know, Has a totally stock look, including the stock TS exhaust, running a super high stress setup with about 500 horses.Originally posted by saab95:Dat's why subaru is selling their 1.6 TS so well![]()
just heard about a group of 323s in e east, who smoke EVOs, and wanna come to the west and play... dunno how true that is, but..... sounds pretty serious.Originally posted by saab95:Now that is the mother of ALL sleepers
So now if I get obliterated by a "TS" I will know why
Still, that fella may have a good reason for doing so (apart from being very sadistic).....the TP....they are actually quite biased. See WRX or EVO go 110km/hr...sure kenna book one. Taxi and uncle chai going at 110km/hr, most of the time close one eye.....
So...best way for him to enjoy his 500 horses is to be a wolf on steriods in sheep's clothing![]()
mmmmmmm dunno. would be fun to see 'em in action.Originally posted by saab95:I live in the east...will look out for the 323 terrors.
323 smoking EVOs, dat is something I have see to believeMaybe they are running high boost TC setups with a huge tank of NOS
While they may jump an EVO, I think it will be hard for them to maintain an advantage for any considerable distance as reliability issues will 'haunt' them.

neighbour's? no. mine. b4 i washed the car on thurs.Originally posted by saab95:HAHAHA!
Rims quite dirty leh...neighbour's car?
Hmmm.dat's one ATR, 1 Merc......anymore goodiesOriginally posted by HENG@:neighbour's? no. mine. b4 i washed the car on thurs.
nope no more. unless u count my go kart.Originally posted by saab95:Hmmm.dat's one ATR, 1 Merc......anymore goodies
Continental cars dirty they front rims quickly and badly. It is a struggle to keep them clean, no thanks to the endless supply of brake dust (due to soft compound brake pads). My ten spoke aeros are a nightmare to clean![]()

no longer kallang. its at jurong. why not bring him to watch? who knows... he might get started. the earlier they start, the more they have a chance of having a shot at international motorsport stardom. he could be the next schumacher for all u know. even so, if not, its still a damned fun thing to do.Originally posted by saab95:Real baby looks like alot of fun. BTW where do u go for karting action nowadays? Is it still at Kallang? Time and venue?
Asking because my little nephew likes watching karts in action. Me too but scared kenna buang. Too low and too fast.
He does like driving alot considering he is less than 3 years old! Always snatching the car steering wheel from me! Actually, he can do parallel parking and imitates michael schumacher's cornering (okay not quite there yet...but idea is there) in his little electric buggy.Originally posted by HENG@:no longer kallang. its at jurong. why not bring him to watch? who knows... he might get started. the earlier they start, the more they have a chance of having a shot at international motorsport stardom. he could be the next schumacher for all u know. even so, if not, its still a damned fun thing to do.
cool. reminds me of my neighbour's kid, who keeps calling out "mercedes" when he sees one. Or my distant nephew, who also loves cars. Think kids nowadays are more car aware from a young age. Or is it only those who come into contact with me?Originally posted by saab95:He does like driving alot considering he is less than 3 years old! Always snatching the car steering wheel from me! He has even started to call out Honda, Mercedes, Porche, Toyota, Evolution......probably knows more about cars than some adults.
Brought him to dreamcars asia and he nearly climbed into the ferrari 360 spyder on display! I was so worried he would scratch the car....then I will be in BIG trouble..
Seen one in action before...Originally posted by saab95:I live in the east...will look out for the 323 terrors.
