Vans - Renault Kangoo, Opel

  Hi,
  
  Anyone owns a van here but uses it as a personal vehicle for transport rather than transporting goods? For e.g., Renault Kangoo, Opel, etc?
  
  Any ideas how to own one? I heard one must register a company first? Is that all? I can't seem to find any articles in this forums on this.

  You need to register the van under a company. In the past no need. when van such as Kangoo and Caddy were introduced, the road was flood with such vans. As such, LTA regulated a rule for van need to be registered under company name.

  I'm not sure about the implication of registering a company. Since you register a company, wouldn't the company subjected to income tax and declaration of business related fees? You can check with the Registry of Companies and Business.

  Nope, they need you to show them what the van use for in your coy; say delivery, you need to show them the contract, order or invoice things like this.

  My friend just bought a citroen berlingo. He just register a company using HDB then buy the car liao.... i think the company must be more than half year or one year...
