  just wanna check wif you guys.
  
  for the autogear.
  
  got p-r-n-d-s-l
  
  what is the use of s and l ah ???
  
  not sure abt it cos its not mine. will onli be using it once in a while.
  
  then moving off that time i just use d to move off.

  l=low gear, useful genting highlands and cameron highlands exploits.
  
  s=think this is supposed to keep the high gear selection at 4 and not 5.....better for overtaking.

  so funny..the honda vti which i drive. is p,r,n,d,d3,d2,d1 .... than the d1, d2 and d3 is for wat purpose? can i start at d1..than go to up d2 ...than d3??can someone enlighten me...wat is the real purpose of the d1 , d2 , and d3.

  D1 means the car will only move in gear 1 n will not shift to gear 2 by itself.
  
  As for D2 it means the gear change will be 1 to 2 only,which means the car will remain in gear 2...
  
  As for D3 it is also the same,Gear will be restict to gear 3..not shifting to 4.
  
  So D means the Gearing will be use up to gear 4 or 5 if yr car is 4 speed auto,or 5 speed auto..
  
  Most of the time we shift to D2 or D1 for engine braking,or climbing slope.

  my ATR has 5 gears. The Merc might have also, since when I downshift from D into 4th gear, there is a noticable increase in rate of engine braking.

  i mostly play with the auto gear for fun...like start at d1...than rev to 5.5 than after that change to d2....same..than d3...than finally to d...will this make the car go faster or just spoil the gear ?

  i know a little abt manual transmission .... but in a auto car...i am not sure by doing this will it spoil the gear box or not..
