i've received countless e-mails of these sort.
but, msian cameras are mobile ones. as far as i know, there aren't any fixed cameras on the NS highway.
the e-mails can only provide "favourite" spots ..... that's all. the police are smart too you know ..... and you're talking about 400km SG-KL ..... there are many many places you can set cameras up.
btw, the reason behind why there are so many speed cameras and sometimes pretty near each other ..... cameras are manned by individual state police HQs. the speed trap operations aren't coordinated between states.
a few yrs ago, a fine that you get in a certain state can ONLY be settled in that state police HQ. cannot be done country-wide. fortunately that has been fixed, after many yrs of suffering.
imagine getting a fine in penang and having to go all the way back there to settle it

and why can't they be unmanned cameras?
msia is big, unlike singapore. u think an unmanned camera can last 24hrs before being "removed"??? hahaha .... very very unlikely.
some kids from the nearby kampung will come by with their motorcycle and make away with their new "toy" -
but right now ... the unmaned cams... are mostly under veh flyovers...
my fren told mi ... the cams.. normall under flyovers... inbetween the pillars....
and manned ones wif polis or hand held speed guns
are postioned at mostly well lited areas...can be seen....
anyone to justify that?...
